Jesus this injury list is starting to get ridiculous.
while it doesn't appear they could have, I imagine at this point Hall and Clements would be getting rest even if their injuries were better enough to go today. Both know the defense well enough that they've kind of in that "save your energy for gameday" phase.

Marvin was gonna let Hall play Sunday even without practicing, which goes against one of Marvin's rules. It doesn't really matter if vets like Hall and Clements can go today. They know the defense in and out. It all comes down to how they're feeling come Sunday.

is there REALLY a big difference btw starting 1-2 vs 2-1? yes. since 1990 1-2 teams make playoffs 23.7% of time.. 2-1 teams make it over 54%[/background]

may be just rest since there was no cause listed.

Said hamstring yesterday. I like the positive attitude, but I have a hard time believing you'd rest your starting center who has only been on the team for 3 weeks or so. If anyone needs the mental reps it's him.

Adam Jones Denies Horse Collar Tackle (And We Agree With Him)

Bengals cornerback Adam Jones told reporters that he had a serious problem regarding his $15,000 fine from the NFLearlier this week. Not because he had to pay a fine. Rather because he didn't commit a horse collar tackle in the first place.

"They say horse collar, but it wasn’t a horse collar," Jones said. "If you rewind the film and look at the film like you should look at it, it was clear that I had his jersey."

That's what they all say, right? I'm innocent! Well. He might be right. So took we took a look at the film.
It's the third quarter with 11:58 on the clock, second and one from the Bengals 40-yard line. Redskins running back Alfred Morris takes a handoff up the middle and gains five yards, with Adam Jones making the stop. When Jones makes the initial contact, his hand is placed near the collar. One can assume that alone may prompt the official to watch closely.

As Jones twists around to drop Morris, you can clearly see that Jones with a fist-full of jersey.

From another angle.

What's interesting isn't so much that he was flagged for a horse collar. Look. Just like the replacements, regular officials will get calls wrong from time to time. And since football fans have never ever done something wrong at their respective places of employment, we'll just have to assume that mistakes tend to happen.
What's odd is that the league, supposedly reviewing these calls during the week to assess actual penalties, still elected to fine Jones. Based on this, apparently they don't, hand-picking penalties on a chart like the Game Books and assessing the fine. Unless you hit someone really hard. Then they'll suspend your disobedient nature.

Isn't this what caused the Bengals to part ways with Willie Anderson? He couldn't practice AND play sunday, so he just chose to rest up and play sunday...

He should have retired a Bengal and should have played another couple of years for the Bengals prior that.

I don't think it was that he couldn't. Its that he didn't want to.

IMO there's a difference between the coaches resting you during the week, and the player saying he doesn't want to practice during the week.

Why the Hell would a team in Florida have a black uniform?
