BBC Persian reporter: Residents heard blasts in Iranian capital in an area where Iran carries out missile research, storage.

Tuesday's report of explosions came days after Israel allegedly carried out two air strikes in Syria over the weekend, targeting Iranian-supplied Fateh-110 surface-to-surface missiles destined for Hezbollah.

We've been by this before right ?  Kermit and Schwartzy along with a host of British ?...  Except this time it's not about nationalization of oil.  Might be about protection of oil supply lines but not about nationalization.

Massive US-led military drills began in the Persian Gulf in a second such show of maritime might in under a year. The US says the exercises are not aimed at Iran, who earlier vowed to close the Hormuz Strait, and now expresses concern over the drills

The Pentagon is directing the maneuvers, which will reportedly involve 35 ships, 18 unmanned submarines and unmanned aircraft. The 40 other countries participating in the drills have not yet been named; Britain, France, some Middle Eastern states, and nations as distant as New Zealand have previously participated in similar exercises.

The Obama administration has stated that the maneuvers are not a warning to Iran, and are intended solely to secure a key oil route in the region.

Correct.  ...and Yes, oil would do that along the lines of what nationalization of oil did back in the 50's.  However, nationalization does not equal protection of supply IMO.

Huh. By that rationale, you would probably say we should be bombed as well ...

In that case does that take into account all leaders to include the leader of the NRA, Tea Party, etc... ?

Chemical Weapons and other WMD's are not exactly the great equalizer but they could and may be used by Iran more readily than Israel would.  Especially if we or other "western nations" back Iran in a corner.  You're 100 percent right that Israel does not need our help.  Israel already has enough WMD's to wipe Syria and Iran of the face of the earth.  However, it also has the potential to create further backlash against anyone that supports Israel also.  Considering we already have a small contingent of US MILITARY troops in Jordan for the Syrian crisis, we will no doubt suffer the fallout from any crisis in the Middle East for "supporting" Israel.

Russia would back Iran.

Good Isreal should bomb them...iran has a crazy leader.

It's about we are isreal allies we have an honor to help them right now.

Israel did not bomb Iran, but if you are advocating action against Iran through a combined U.S. - Israeli campaign you are going to need to make a better argument than

1) Iran's president (who is not their leader) is "crazy."

2) Something or other about our country's "honor."

3) Stating the opinion of the opposing major political party's failed presidential candidate.

4) "Why not?"

The U.S. and Israeli governments have met often in order to discuss how to properly handle relations with Iran. They are in constant communication. They have agreed to use military options when they deem it a necessity. Why is action all of a sudden necessary? By all accounts Iran still lacks the capability to create a nuclear warhead, and Ahmadinejad's replacement will be elected in June. Additionally, other options still remain. All of which make your presumed argument moot. Why are you such a hawk on this? Would you willfully risk your life in order to strike at Iran? Is immediate action that important to you?
