do you really expect to get that call in that situation....Michael Irving made a living pushing off....the refs hardly ever make the right call in those situations.....
-_- he didn't beat us... your defense and the bus pretty much did that... and the shitty ass call by the ref... but yeah, whatever :)
[post="119114"][/post]
Since the Refs gave the game away to the Bengals,i find it funny.

The first Bengals game Cinncy had five penalties for 46 yards.Pittsburgh had seven penalties for 90 yards.

The second Bengals game Cinncy had 10 penalties for 97 yards.Pittsburgh had eight penaties for 56 yards.

Pittsburgh had 15 penaties for 146 yards in those two games. The Bengals had 15 penalties for 143 yards.

Stop your complaining. The Refs decided nothing.

you need to keep reading instead of picking one post and basing everything you bash off that...

and anyways i was talking about one play, not all the penalties added together... it was clearly a pass interference call, when burress pushed tori james and we got called for pass interference... coolie (i assume) conceded that it was a pass interference call and then asked if i expected it to be called... i said no but it still sucked... don't act like you wouldn't be bitching if you were on the other side of the coin...

<edit> i did a search and found this thread that was back when it happened... just for a little fun... we described it back then in a lot better detail... i forgot that he actually missed the ball, but WE got called for a pass interference... it would have been fourth down and you would have had to try to tie it up for a field goal...

anyways, can't wait to make up for it this year...

Poor little fella.....I'm sure we'll see more of his "sensitive side" this season.....
[post="120019"]<{POST_SNAPBACK}>[/post]
That "sensitive" WR has more heart than any of your players. The emotional moment displayed was about a guy who will be inducted in the Hall Of Fame in the future. Something only two of your players knows anything about. Charlie Joiner playing three years for the Bengals when he had a 18 year career doesn't count for much.

You're the one bringing it up.

I didn't agree with one of the two holding calls against our RG Keydrick Vincent in the first game or the Chad Scott 35 yard PI call or the RT Oliver Ross hold nulifying a Randle El TD catch in the second game. Things just don't work out how you see them sometimes.

The wifey's been in the hospital and I haven't had access to a computer much lately.
I will say this after reading through this entire thread (very entertaining, imho!).
You Steeler fans here are much more polite than I expected, for the most part. Hopefully this is a trend that will continue due to Rivals networking, although when a Browns website joins up I'm afraid all conversation will have to be monosyllabic in nature... :P
I am also continually amazed by the varied perceptions that human beings possess when presented with the same thing.
It was a bad call, that interference. Ah well. It happens, and when you're the Bengals, you're not going to get the breaks (re: the Patriots game, fraught with homefield ref calls, yet another one that we should have won last season. But again, ah well. It was the media/NFL darling Patriots. What are you going to do? And you should never point to bad refereeing as an excuse for losing. Which is exactly why I'm doing it now... :P ).
The Steelers were clearly the class of the AFC North last season because they were the most complete team on both sides of the ball. In spite of Ben's rookieness.
Clearly, the Bengals are a much improved team since Marvin Lewis took over. Two 8-8 seasons in a row where slow starts/injuries plagued possible playoff pipe dreams is a hell of a lot better than we've had for more than a decade.
This Ben vs Carson thing is silly. Cowher has always liked to base his teams with a run-first philosophy coupled with strong defense. So, in such a system, Ben is required to take care of the ball and make some clutch plays in passing situations, which he didn't have that many of because he enjoyed the luxury of a strong running game and a defense that kept opponents offenses off the field.
Our team, otoh, is morphing into more of a Colts-style attack, except unlike the Colts, we're going to have a good defense, and probably sooner rather than later.
I am deeply looking forward to playing the Steelers more than any other team
because it will be a good measuring stick to see how far we've come. And like the old Vagina Slimes cigarette ads, I believe "You've come a long way, baby."
^_^

Oh, I think you have. After all, you have posted 163 times in 8 days at the Bengals site. I don't spend that much time at all other fan sites combined, including the Buckeye's site.

Posting here does not equate to jumping on the soon to be barren bandwagon....my posting here is just a reflection of how boring it is in the offseason....most of the other teams fans who visit the Steeler Nation only reappear during the season.....and I always enjoy seeing what others think even if they are obviously biased toward their own squad....when the season begins...I will probably go back to spending more time at my home site and only pop in here before and after the Steelers' victories over your bengals.....
