Guest bengalrick
i hope it is far from a problem, b/c there is no other carson palmer, but we have to make sure that we are set at backup imo... if carson is out for the first month, we cannot be sitting at 0-4 or 1-3... simple as that... our schedule is going to be bruttal next year... the afc north is going to be the best in the nfl imo, b/c even cleveland is looking decent... we got teams like: atl, san diego, ne, carolina, colts, tampa bay, kc, saints, raiders.... fuck!!!! there are no gimmee's next year... and if carson isn't back, we're in huge trouble, and waiting another year for our promise land... carson can take us there, but our backup has to plug the hole... the best person in that group, is billy volek... but a third round pick might be too much for a backup (though, this is skeptical coming from lance)... billy volek is probably the best backup in teh league currently... i am not even going to vote for this poll, b/c i truely don't know... -GoBengals-
Volek is by far the best on the list.... but if palmer is back in time, its a completely wasted 3rd rounder.. if he isnt, is a 3rd round pick worth a slightly better qb for 1-3 games..? if we were sure palmer would miss the first 4 games.. i would say volek... Guest IndianaBengal
if we have the balls to sign Krenzel from da Bears, we better have the nads to use him when needed. Otherwise the Bengals front office needs to admitt they fucked up in picking him up. Use the kid, he beat Miami. Don't waste draft picks or cash on qb's. Carson is a tuff sob. JC
Harrington could do pretty well in this offense i believe. He would have all the time in the world, 2 great backs, and 3 great recievers, and a kicker that was the best in the afc this year. We don't quite need a late round pick(that would probably be used on a qb) and zampese could teach this guy that it isn't good to throw it to the team without the same colors Volek would be very nice but then we would have 2 quarterbacks better then Ben Rothlisberger, i can imagine Dan Rooney bitching about that also. Edit I didnt see Jamie Martin, i really think this guy could do well with us, if he did well with the Rams offense. Seems like they like to throw it down the field also, and then use that nice running game. Whatever happens though.
bengaldee
I want Jamie Martin. Don't have to give up any draft picks and won't break the bank.He is older and did a good job in ST. Louis. He is familar with Zampese and doesn't have a problem being a backup.
|BengalsFREAK|
IF we had to use a 3rd rounder to get Volek...wouldn't you think we could get that back next year in a trade? Even if you had to settle for a 4th round pick in a trade....I think that's worth the price to pay to have security this year.

The Titans who lack a 3rd round pick appear to be hoping to acquire a pick to use to move up one spot with the Saints to draft Matt Leinart.

Guest Claptonrocks
If the Bengals could trade for Volek that would solve all worries about having a gifted QB in place of Palmer... As Bengalfreak mentioned not only would we fill a void this season but have a QB that we'll probably get our draft pick back for next year as well.... Seneca Wallace .... he could practice as a backup QB .... and then when Carson is ready .... we could still use him situationally like Shittsburg did with Randle El * plus I loved to watch Seneca in College where he was magic with the ball

We don't need to go through as much "who is going to be our backup" next year.
