Big Ben in Surgery?
If Ben's out...let the Stealers excuses start rolling.

Well...if Ben hadn't been out.

Funny how they seem to be able to say that, yet when a Bengal fan claims that we would have beat them in the POs had Carson actually played, we're insane and stupid.

Ahhhh...reveling in the ignorance of a Stealer fan.
stealers | Roethlisberger OUT for Week 1
Sun, 3 Sep 2006 15:22:37 -0700

pissburgh stealers head coach Bill Cowher said QB Ben Roethlisberger (appendix) underwent an emergency appendectomy Sunday, Sept. 3. The surgery went well, but he will be out for Week 1 and will be on a week-to-week basis. The team is looking to bring in another quarterback and QB Charlie Batch will start Week 1.
If he really had an appendectomy then it is very likely that we will be facing Batch in week 3, which is actually quite a disappointment to me, as I was looking forward to our new look defense making him look like the decidedly average QB that he is. Ahh well, chalk up a "W" and let the Steelernation excuses start flowing.
Then I guess Carson won't be playing against Ben this year. The 2nd game will mean nothing to us by then.

The stealers first two games are against the only two teams the Bengals don't also play, Miami and Jacksonville. That was the scheduling advantage they got for being the AFC North runnerups from the 2005 season. Will be interesting to see how they do against those two opponents, compared to how we do against New England and at Indianapolis.

Nati...would you say that the reason we lost the playoff game was cause carson got hurt? if so dont be like them and be hypocritical and say they are making up excuses...cause not having your starting QB is a good excuse to why you lost a game. Just dont be hypocritical like they are being right now

what are you talking about?

that was my point

edit: jesus christ, why am i explaining this..

look, those sonsofbitches claimed that they would have beat us regardless and that losing your starting probowl record setting qb is not a valid excuse for losing a playoff game, they are obviously retarded and im looking forward to reminding them of this when they try to make that claim. the end.
The appendix attack is yet another medical setback for Roethlisberger, who nearly died in a June 12 motorcycle accident only to make a remarkably fast recovery. He missed no practice time during training camp and played better in the preseason than he did a year ago before leading the stealers to their first Super Bowl victory in 26 years.
This drives me fucking crazy. He had a broken jaw, and some scrapes on his face. The recovery time was 6 weeks, their preseason didn't start until like 10 or 12 weeks after the accident.

I think he'll be back by game 3, probably his first game back will be against us. We will own him.

Charlie Batch is terrible. stealers start the season 0-3...
