He wrapped the dogs’, Sloopy and Skeeter, bodies in plastic after killing them. According to The Dispatch: Santuomo in December laid a plastic sheet in his basement, tied the dogs to a pipe, partially suspending their bodies and shot them. He then disposed of them in a trash bin behind a fire station he was assigned. A prosecutor said Santuomo “bragged” to his co-workers about killing the dogs. Someone then notified a humane society, which was the same place Santuomo adopted the dogs. Santuomo still faces a disciplinary hearing with the fire department.
