Andre needs to be moved to second reciever now.

Agreed. Coles has been average, but a good veteran to have around if we lose anyone to injury, etc..

and his contract was smart, he can be cut next year for minimal hit... if there is still a cap..

I hope it clicks for him, I really like the guy. He's had some ugly drops, but he's made a few plays too. I hope he can get on the level with Palmer soon.

Less than average, Go. You know he has been less than average. Caldwell has really stepped up and he deserves the #2 spot more than anyone on the team. CH has been doin some work lately as well.

can't have a letdown game next week against Houston

after a tough 3 game division stretch, it'd be almost understandable

but naw the cardiac cats gonna pull through....6-1 looks very realist now
Benson has something to prove to Houston and Chicago. We're coming into a stretch where both teams may target to shut down Ced. That opens up the passing game. In return, more yardage passing eventually opens up the running game. Its a catch 22 for our opponents.

No letdowns coming. This is a different team.

Ok. I only got to see the last 40 minutes of the game because CBS decided to show all 60 minutes of the Giants blowout of Oakland and i had to help a friend so i couldn't make it to a bar or anything.

Anyway, What exactly did Coles do that was so bad? Can someone describe it or does anyone have a video?

Just imagine how good we would be if we could score points on PATs, FG's and had a TE that could hold onto the ball.

I forgot he was on our team until I started reading these threads.

Me: "Oh yeah! Coles is on our team. I don't remember seeing him today."

yea i cant really be in the guys corner too much, but he has a few key catches in the drives against the steelers, so thats why he got the "average" mark..

but overall very mediocre at best is probably more accurate.. and i love what caldwell brings... he is what Tj wishes he was..

Bengals thrill in final minute again

BALTIMORE – Once again, the Bengals high-wire act ended up producing the most improbable of endings.

Three division games, three last-minute comebacks and the AFC North lead.

Carson Palmer's 20-yard pass to a wide-open Andre Caldwell gave the Bengals a 17-14 victory over the Ravens at M&T Bank Stadium.

On the game winning drive the Bengals went 80 yards in 11 plays in one minute, 50 seconds. On the drive, the Bengals benefited from two Ravens penalties and another Palmer fourth-down scramble.

It is the Bengals fourth straight win and gives them a one-game lead in the division. Baltimore falls to 3-2.

Cedric Benson broke the Ravens' 39-game streak of holding a rusher under 100 yards and a defense that forced Baltimore into six punts, including three three-and-outs.

Benson, who had 120 yards on 27 carries, became the first back to reach the century mark since Larry Johnson in 2006. He was also the first AFC North back since Rudi Johnson in 2005 to accomplish the feat.

Things looked good with 52 seconds left in the third quarter when Benson went 28 yards for a touchdown on a zone run off the left side. On the play, Benson made Ravens linebacker Jameel McClain miss and then blew through the rest of the defense en route to the score.

But the Ravens took the lead back when Ray Rice went 48 yards on a Flacco dumpoff. On the 2nd-and-24 play, Rice appeared to be corralled by Leon Hall and Brandon Johnson, but he kept his balance and broke free.

That set the stage for another late-game comeback.

The Bengals got the opening kickoff and went 60 yards in 12 plays, only to have Shayne Graham have a 33-yard field goal attempt partially blocked by Kelly Gregg.

It was another high snap from Brad St. Louis which Kevin Huber had to quickly put down. Graham also appeared to make a stutter step which threw off his rhythm.

Baltimore then got the ball and appeared to be driving when Johnathan Joseph picked off a Joe Flacco pass intended for Todd Heap in the end zone. Joseph is the first Bengal to have interceptions in three straight games since Deltha O'Neal had a four-game run in 2005.

The Ravens scored first on Reed's 52-yard interception return off a Carson Palmer interception. On the pass, which was intended for Chad Ochocinco. Palmer appeared to lock in on Ochocinco and did not see Reed, who read it perfectly.

It was similar to the pick six that Palmer threw in Week 2 against Charles Woodson at Green Bay.

The Bengals responded on the next drive and closed to within 7-3 on a Graham 32-yard field goal. The key play on the drive was a 73-yard reception by Chris Henry down the left sideline. Henry caught the ball one handed and was able to pull away from Domonique Foxworth.

That brought the ball down to the Ravens 4, but the Bengals were unable to take advantage. On 3rd-and-goal from the Ravens 4 there was a low shotgun snap which led to a Jarrett Johnson sack.

The Bengals were driving deep in Ravens territory late in the first half, but Reed forced a fumble off a Chad Ochocinco completion which Foxworth recovered.

4-1
The Bengals sweep their first go around through the AFC North with a 17-14 come-from-behind win over Baltimore. Andre Caldwell had the game-winner with 20-yard reception from Carson Palmer with 22 seconds remaining.

Heroes

The defense held the Ravens to 257 total yards and allowed Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco to complete four passes to wide receivers. The defensive performance was a testament to coordinator Mike Zimmer, who coached three days after the sudden death of his wife, Vikki.
Cedric Benson broke the Ravens' 39-game streak of holding backs under 100 yards with 120 yards on 27 carries, including a 28-yard touchdown late in the third quarter. Prior to Sunday's game, the longest run the Ravens allowed was 16 yards.
Carson Palmer had his best game of the season, going 18 of 31 for 271 yards with a touchdown and interception.
Key Number
3: Times a team's leading receiver has been shutout by the Bengals this season. Baltimore's Derrick Mason joins Green Bay's Greg Jennings and former Cleveland (now New York Jet) Braylon Edwards on the list.

He Said It
"Huge. It was huge. This team doesn't give up 100-yard rushers. Believe me, I know that. It's a tradition, and it's prideful. What our offensive group and Cedric did today has been unmatched for a long time," Marvin Lewis on Benson's game

AFC North Standings
Bengals: 4-1

Ravens: 3-2

Steelers: 3-2

Browns: 1-4

Up Next
The Bengals return home for three straight in the next four weeks, starting Sunday against Houston at 1 p.m. The game still has plenty of tickets available.
