I can't recommend it enough, and this piece does a better job explaining the struggle between the parks and the profiteers than I could ever hope to. I was well aware of the history, but it is utterly impossible to communicate the issue in this venue.

Soros' pro-democracy Open Society Institute played a role in the collapse of communist regimes in Hungary and Georgia, and has funded projects to support freedom of expression, democracy, public health and human rights around the world. He is famous for donating to liberal causes, including a 2004 push to derail President George W. Bush's re-election.

When Soros was a child in Nazi-occupied Hungary, his father bribed an agriculture official to pretend the boy was his Christian godson, The Daily Beast reported. Under the ruse -- which may have saved Soros' life -- the 14-year-old had to accompany the official on an inspection of a confiscated Jewish estate.

On his Fox TV show Tuesday, Beck said the 14-year-old Soros "used to go around with this anti-Semite and deliver papers to the Jews and confiscate their property and then ship them off."

"I am certainly not saying that George Soros enjoyed that, even had a choice. I mean, he's 14 years old. He was surviving. So I'm not making a judgment. That's between him and God," Beck continued, according to The New York Times. He added that "many people" would call Soros "an anti-Semite," but that he would not.

On a previous Oct. 10 radio show, Beck accused Soros of actively participating in the Holocaust. "George Soros was part of it. He would help confiscate the stuff. It was frightening. Here's a Jewish boy helping send the Jews to the death camps," Beck said, according to The Jerusalem Post.

The Anti-Defamation League, a leading Jewish advocacy group, issued a statement Thursday calling Beck's statements "horrific" and "offensive."

"Glenn Beck's description of George Soros' actions during the Holocaust is completely inappropriate, offensive and over the top. For a political commentator or entertainer to have the audacity to say -- inaccurately -- that there's a Jewish boy sending Jews to death camps, as part of a broader assault on Mr. Soros, that's horrific," the statement said, according to The Jewish Journal of Greater Los Angeles.

"To hold a young boy responsible for what was going on around him during the Holocaust as part of a larger effort to denigrate the man is repugnant," ADL national director Abraham Foxman, who is a Holocaust survivor himself, told the Times.

Fox News, which draws an estimated 2.8 million viewers to Beck's TV program, said it stood by the host's comments. "Information regarding Mr. Soros' experiences growing up were taken directly from his writings and from interviews given by him to the media, and no negative opinion was offered as to his actions as a child," Joel Cheatwood, a senior vice president at Fox News, said in a statement excerpted by TV Guide.

Beck, a Mormon convert, has frequently come under fire for controversial comments about the Holocaust and Jews.[/quote]

I am by no means a regular Glenn Beck viewer but I do on occasion catch his show. The guy is definitely a loud mouthed blow hard but I would not say he is racist or anti-semitic.

The thing about this series of shows is that he does make some points that average Americans need to be aware of. I am no fan of George Soros but I think the focus on him was misguided.

I am also no conspiracy theorist but there are some dots that need to be connected. The dollar is in fact being destroyed right in front of us. Both political parties have either turned a blind eye or even at times have been complicit in this.

Put politics aside for a second and look at the all out assault by both parties on the value of the dollar.

Strengthening the dollar would put us back on track in a matter of months but both parties have done the opposite. Mean while average people like us have to work harder to chase dollars that have an ever dwindling amount of purchasing power. The dollar buys less gasoline, food, and consumer goods each day than the day before it.

The past three administrations have blown our national debt into the stratosphere, encouraged risky lending practices and act surprised and self righteous when banks, insurance companies and investment firms begin to fail. They then proceed to create even bigger deficits through massive bailouts and spending programs. Now we have yet another crisis that can only be solved by printing a ton of new money to further shrink the purchasing power of the ever dwindling dollars in my wallet and yours.

So are they stupid or is there an actual agenda here? I prefer to think that it is just stupidity but no matter what it is we are on the verge of massive inflation. Once again you and me are going to pay the price for the actions of our leaders. Mean while we cheer like we are a football game for our guy when he wins. We vote for catch phrases and star power instead of the boring people that might actually have some really good ideas. Our political system has become American Idol and these rock stars are killing us one penny at a time.

Glenn Beck may be a blow hard but I hope enough people can sift through the Soros attacks and see that there is a real issue that must be dealt with.

I dont disagree with you re the debasing of the dollar as done recently by the Fed. If people want to be critical of Obama this is meat that I can sink my teeth into, the rest of this "socialism", "communism", "marxism" stuff is a joke.

Both parties have been complicit in the destruction of the dollar, Obama just happens to be the guy behind the desk at the moment. The monetization of the debt is just the latest round of it.
