Sports Illustrated writer Peter King predicts the Bengals will have a winning record at 9-7, but won't make the playoffs. In the new issue, King talks to Quarterback Carson Palmer about some of the plays that cost Cincinnati a win against the Jets in last year's playoffs. "I've watched that playoff game over and over. There's a bunch of plays I wish I could have back-four throws I wish I could have back," Palmer tells King, "I was hurrying my feet. We could have had a big gain on one play and I hurried, and I threw it over [Chad Ochocinco's] head. That's on me. But I can either say, 'Woe is me,' or I can figure out what I need to do to play better." If he's on target and if people tracked penalties Chad is whoopin Revis island and Bengals are in the second round. On the prediction: Bengals were not a team that won because everything fell right for them. In many respects they won in spite of some bad luck. They didn't have a pro bowler (although I think that's BS) but it points to nobody really having a crazy, crazy, stat year. I think some Browns beat reporter was trying to draw comparisons between the 2007 Browns and 2009 Bengals, don't see it. That Browns team had players turning in fluke games. Patmo Posted September 1, 2010 Report Share Posted September 1, 2010 In all fairness the Bengals could go 6-10 this year because of the schedule and injuries. It all depends on the first five games. I'm concerned about the pass rush and being thin at safety. Personally, I think that they'll go 11-5 or 12-4 and in any case win the AFCN again. Peter King's pick always suck.
