Is Leon Hall done?

Leon Hall is doomed to be underrated by Bengal fans because he's not flashy. They guy is solid as the day is long. I seriously hope he can come back. Moving him to Free Safety just removes a prime talent from a Franchise position.

If that would happen it would be a kick in the balls as you would see the league's top CB combo evaporate within a year.

Even if Hall is able to come back at his same level, the Bengals still need to be looking for corners.

Well I really do hope he doesn't come back slower, because he was already on the cusp of becoming too slow for a DB. He would make up for his lack of speed with his technique and intuition. If loses much more speed he would be relegated to safety, which isn't a good position for him because he isn't a big hitter or tackler.

In some discussions in other threads on the forum I have been reading about those counting on Hall's return. That got me wondering as it seemed to me that NFL players that have had such an injury tend to have limited moblility and this type of injury may end a DB's career.

I came across this article I thought many may wish to review. In a nut shell, It doesn't sound good.

That study is total garbage. The average age of the injured players was 29. Even with NO INJURY AT ALL the production of the average 29-year-old NFL player is going to plunge over the next 3 seasons.

Donovan Bailey set the world record in the 100 yard dash after returning from a torn achilles in 1998.

Soccer legend David Beckham is playing well after returning from achilles surgery.

Elton Brand recovered from an achilles tear. The season he returned he had his highest rebounding total in four years.

The Cowboys Greg Ellis made the Pro Bowl the year he returned from his achilles tear.

Rudolph had a torn achilles and came back the next year to deliver Christmas to over a billion homes. So don't say someone can't return from that kind of injury. It can be done!

Kevin Smith came back from a torn achilles back in the 90's when they fixed them with staple guns and duct tape.

Now please list all of the young healthy CBs who never returned from a torn achilles.

Move him to FS.. less of a quick twitch needed. He's great in coverage and he still likes to stick his helmet in there and make tackles

We should try him at LG. The achilles injury is really going to affect his lateral quickness.

Antwan Odom, Reggie Kelly....wait, what?

And none of those guys are Bengals. Bengal injuries are a different breed of animal.
