dabengals12
I just saw on twitter that Ced " hands of stone" Benson said " They talk about winning championships here, not their first playoff game." But if IIRC the Bengals were the ones to give him a second chance to prove that he wasn't a bust. Talk about ungrateful.
Oldcat
That's kind of weak-sauce badmouthing compared to Gatorade-gate. Relax.
JC
Such an odd fit. He doesn't block, he can't catch, and he ran into the backs of our O-line last year, which was probably better than the Packers. I laughed when he said he was gunning for 1,000 yards. No chance. scharm
Eh, we do talk a bunch about winning a playoff game. Our bar is low when compared to the Packers.
oldschooler
I just saw on twitter that Ced " hands of stone" Benson said " They talk about winning championships here, not their first playoff game." But if IIRC the Bengals were the ones to give him a second chance to prove that he wasn't a bust. Talk about ungrateful.
He was talking about him picking the Packers over the Raiders and the Lions. It had nothing to do with the Bengals. Benson told FOXSportsWisconsin.com the Detriot Lions and Oakland Raiders both attempted to sign him before the Packers. "Both teams that needed backs," Benson said. "They talk about a Super Bowl around here, not about winning their first playoff game," the running back said. After the large group of reporters surrounding Benson had left, he told FOXSportsWisconsin.com that both the Detroit Lions and Oakland Raiders had attempted to sign him prior to the Packers calling. "Both teams that needed backs," Benson added. But those situations just weren't right for him. "They talk about a Super Bowl around here, not about winning their first playoff game," Benson said earlier in the interview. http://www.foxsportswisconsin.com/08/13/12/Benson-chose-Packers-over-Raiders-Lions/landing_packers.html?blockID=775087&feedID=5196
Jeb
The DNO shirts are for a reason, ...one Ced never got or he would have held onto the ball better! Good luck Green Bay, ...he's all yours now.
dabengals12
Ah... All I saw was a quote. There wasn't a link to the story. Thanks old
MaddChatter
Context is everything. Thanks for clearing that up. Cecric always seemed to appreciat his opportunities here and I don't recall him saying anything negative about management or his team mates.. Even though he did seem to miss the hole at times, he's one ex Bengal I would't mind seeing do well.
putz
If Cedric did not fumble as much, was able to make tacklers miss some times, and able to punch the ball over the goal line he would still be a Bengal. I also think the Bengals would have a few playoff wins and who knows what else. The offense was a run first team while Ced was here. But I agree with Bengals Fan in that I wish ced the best. -GoBengals-
lots of hating on benson, he was a talnted kid, a complete asshole but talented, he ran into backs of linemen because the linemen were getting pushed around like little girls out there. his attitude and random fumbling issue were his only downsides... in that style offense he doesnt really need to be a super catching RB, he is serviceable there, and blocking shouldnt be a huge issue, they have other backs for that.. T-Dub
He did seem like a prick, but in his defense it had to be frustrating getting automatically pulled from the game every 3rd series only to watch Scott get tackled by strong gusts of wind, no matter what the situation/down/distance.
