a rare Monday workout. Listed as a 2nd year corner who was with the Titans last year. Out of LSU.

The last time I saw the Fins in PBS was when our future Hall of Shamer, aKillme Smith was the QB. We were doing well the first half and we were driving for a last minute score in the final minute of the half. aKillme then proceeded to throw one of the most horrible pick 6's I have ever seen which basically ended any kind of momentum for the rest of the game. Any of you guys who never saw this guy play live should thank the lord for your luck. Dalton was better in High School than aKillme as a pro.

Just a horrible second half.
Hawkins, out of LSU, played nine games with the Tennessee Titans last year, recording 14 tackles on defense and another eight stops on special teams. Before the Titans, Hawkins made stops with the Jacksonville Jaguars as an undrafted free agent and Baltimore Ravens as a free agent. At LSU Hawkins started 24 games, generating 110 tackles, five interceptions and 19 pass breakups.

We doubt that the team is checking out Hawkins for the 53-man roster, rather a potential spot on the practice squad that was left open following Chris Lewis-Harris' promotion to the practice squad last week.
if he played in 9 games last year though, he's not PS eligible.

I was at that one too. Would rather have sat in a dentist's chair and had my eye-teeth pulled. There was not one game I ever saw Akili play, where he even gave one iota of the swagger that a QB who knows he's got it does. Not once. Even Klingler had "it" a little. This guy had nothing.

Tannehill's strong performance (26 of 41 passes completed for 431 yards, with one touchdown and two interceptions) in Sunday's 24-21 overtime loss to the Arizona Cardinals showed signs of his overall growth, and potential.

He delivered some big throws, and handled the blitz relatively well for three and a half quarters. But then the pressure got to him and he threw a game-sealing interception that led to the game-winning field goal.

Chalk it up to growing pains from a rookie starter.

Tannehill, who was the eighth pick in the 2012 NFL draft, has thrown for 1,046 yards, and is averaging 7.3 yards per attempt.

He's completing 55.9 percent of his passes, which is the 27th best percentage amongst NFL starting quarterbacks.

But he's only thrown two touchdowns and six interceptions. That means his red zone efficiency needs to improve, and obviously he needs to cut down on the turnovers.

But Tannehill is the top rated quarterback when under pressure from blitzes according to ProFootballFocus.com, which tracks every player's per snap contribution to his team.

Tannehill has been sacked 14.6 percent of the time, and there are only 11 quarterback who have a lower sack percentage.

He's been sacked seven times when blitzed and thrown two of his six interceptions on blitzes.

Still, he's completing 81.3 percent of his passes when blitzed, which indicates two things. 1. He has good composure. 2. A good mastery of the Dolphins offense, which he ran at Texas A&M.

However, that mastery of the offense, which allows him to make the right line calls most of the time, hasn't resulted in stellar play.

Tannehill has a 66.4 quarterback rating, which has him ranked 31st, ahead of only fellow rookie Brandon Weeden. According to ProFootballFocus.com, Tannehill has only lost 84 yards because of his 13 dropped passes.

Tannehill's 7.3 yards per attempt has him ranked 16th in the NFL. Last week he averaged a meager 6.03 so he's moving in the right direction.

He's taken 301 snaps this season and 154 have been drop backs. That means the Dolphins offense has been very balanced when it comes to under-center and shotgun work.

What do these overall numbers mean? In my opinion they show Tannehill has promise, but must show drastic improvement (produce a higher completion percentage, more red zone efficiency, less turnovers) for the Dolphins to win games.

Some of that can probably be explained by the opponents - Texans, Raiders, Jets, Cardinals. None are really crazy pass offenses. And the Texans, who could, probably didn't have to pass a lot as they dominated the game.

I was looking at some stats last night and Houston has like 70 more rushes than passes. Likely because they have been running up big leads and then just draining the clock.

possible. Cochart also was dealing with a back issue when he first got cut here. It didn't stop Dallas from signing him briefly, but don't know if its still an issue.

We have way more explosive weapons at WR than just AJ. AJ might not have a big game but I bet Hawkins does.
