texbengal Posted August 22, 2023 Report Share Posted August 22, 2023 Supposedly the Bengals tried to trade for Cooper Rush in the off-season. Dehner talked about Brandon Allen possibly being a cut since he was/is 4th on the Rams’ depth chart. He’s better than Simian, and Foles and Wentz straight up blow chunks. If Allen becomes available, I’d grab him and cut Simian. He knows the offense and he’s had some decent games as a starter. And yeah, he looks like isht on occasion, but if JB misses a bunch of games, they’re screwed anyway. What makes this situation is that Siemian/Browning have got the kind of training camp reps that most backup QBs only dream about. They have taken all of the snaps that would've gone to Burrow, and seemingly done very little with them. There are few signs of much improvement as the regular season draws closer.
