Seriously, though, with all of the winning teams being 1-0 and having the same strength of victory (0-1) and strength of schedule (0-1), plus there being no possibility of 1-0 teams having played each other head-to-head yet, all of the tiebreakers come down to points scored and allowed. Step 12: Coin Flip In the AFC North, the standings would be: Team (W-L) PCT PF-PA CRO-CRD=CR Baltimore (1-0) 1.000 27-0 2-1=3 pissburgh (1-0) 1.000 28-17 1-5=6 Cincinnati (1-0) 1.000 23-10 6-3=9 Cleveland (0-1) 0.000 14-18 12-9=21 The Ravens' 27 points scored is 2nd best in the league, behind only pissburgh. The Bengals' 23 points puts them in 6th. Defensively, the Ravens have yielded 0 points, good enough for 1st rank. The Bengals' 10 points puts them in 3rd, the stealers' 17 points against is 5th. Baltimore and San Diego would get the bye. New Orleans would play at St Louis, Seattle would travel to Philly, and Chicago/Atlanta would be on a bye. The conference record tiebreaker (in fact, all record-based tiebreakers) are not based on wins and losses, per se, but on winning percentage. Baltimore's game was out of conference, so they've played no conference games, so they don't have a winning percentage. It's not 1.0, it's not 0.0, it has no value at all, which invalidates the tiebreaker. And yeah, I do have some time on my hands this morning. It's raining outside right now, and since the cows are already milked, there's little else to do until it stops. Graber's barnrasing is this afternoon, and we've all pretty much cleared our scheduled.
