The point about going downtown and making that joke is that the reality is you cant, and we both know this, that wasnt a joke about a white guy getting beat up it was an illistration about the reality of making that joke in front of those you wouldnt make it on as opposed to the comfort of making it on the net. Unfortunately, at least in any of our lifetimes, I don't believe it will ever happen. Race is always going to be an issue in this country, that's just the way it is. Of course there is going to be a big deal about two (one) black head coaches being in the super bowl for the first time, and I don't see a problem with it, as it is a great accomplishment and means a lot for African Americans all over the country. Will there be as big of a deal about it next time? No, I don't think so. As for the "N" word, which i think is the most dirtiest word in the English language, I surely never say it (or type it) because being a caucasian I know what the word represents and it's not my place to say it. African Americans saying it? i honestly don't understand why they use that word, but i don't think it's my place to say whether they should or not The whole joke thing you guys are talking about, I dont' know what's right, but sometimes I think people are way too sensitive anymore... To me a racial statement, slur, or anything of the sort is wrong, especially when you are not part of the race you are making the statement about. I really wish that African Americans would refrain from using the N word when refering to each other because I believe it would show themselves as having more self respect and would discourage anyone from ever using the word again. I am not reaching just to fuck with him...not even trying to fuck with him. Just pointing out something I saw in another thread which contradicted the statement I quoted from sneaky.
