Dream cars

This car purchase of mine has me thinking about all kinds of cars. If I was super rich and had a shitload of cash to toss at a bunch of cars I'd have to have these in my garage.

1970 Olds 442 convertible

1969 Camaro RS

1978 Trans Am (The Bandit)

1970 Charger fixed up as a General Lee

1968 Mustang

Hummer H2 (to piss off the tree huggers).....and minus the "Pimp My Ride" wheels in this photo.

I think that would do it for me. I like muscle cars but I'm not much into sports cars like Ferrari etc...

If we're going to talk about classic musclecars too, my alltime favorite is the "original" musclecar, the Pontiac GTO.

I prefer the 1966-67 versions with the stacked headlights like this one. Love this cars paint and sidepipes, too. What a classic, clean car!

you know what GTO stands for dont you?

and yes I love muscle cars. I had a 1974 AMX with a 390 in it. I use to race it, but got really desperate financially and sold it. I still kick myself. Oh well, I will have another muscle car before I die. The wife said its ok, I am just saving the cash. Id say in about 10 years id be good to go.

oh yea GTO= gas tires and oil. Cause you go through them a lot. lol

Whatever Rudi. GTO's didn't burn or use any more oil than any other musclecar of that era. The 389 and 400cid engines that Pontiac built back then were rock-solid motors, like much of the other GM engines of that time.

It's too bad that the divisions of GM got homogenized like they did. Back in the 1960's and early 1970's there were some unique cars to each division.

Now cars share the same cosmetics, parts, etc.

EDIT: I knew you were kidding about the oil burning. The cars back then certainly DID guzzle gas, though, and they went through tires like they did because they had nylon tires AND because you could literally burn a set of rear tires in one burnout due to all that torque.

Watch this video. This is NOT a Lingenfelter Vette as the vid advertises, but it IS a 550-600hp car that's been modded. The guys filming are driving a heavily-modded Talon that's running low 13's in the 1/4 mile, which by all accounts, is a really fast car. The Vette eats them alive, and is probably running high 11's or low 12's in the quarter.

Their reaction is priceless.

Now imagine a Corvette that has TWICE as much power as this one in the video. THAT'S why it's my dream car. Shit, look at the cars on Lingenfelter's website: http://www.lingenfelter.com/

They now have a 427ci Vette with twin turbos that's pulling 1300 horsepower!

My father is a mechanic, yea we are blue colar. They were called gas tires and oil before you were born. I wasnt insulting you, I was relaying a piece of history from a guy that was 25 in 1969. I think they know more about it than you do <_<
