I wasnt insulting you, I was relaying a piece of history from a guy that was 25 in 1969. I think they know more about it than you do <_<
A) I'm still going to kick your ass in fantasy football
B) GTO's were no more oil/gas/tire burning than any other car of that era.

You guys have no idea how desperately I need a muscle car/street rod.

It is the reason I wake up and go to work in the mornings, and the reason I went back to school.

My dad is a hot rodder, as well as many of my friends. If you've been to Goodguys in Columbus in the last 4 years, I guarantee you have seen me before hanging out with some friends who have hot rods.

We always park where the ski lift starts. Nova, Camaro, 57 Chevy, 50 something Chevy truck.

Good times.

That RS is sharp...the Chevy 327 is an underrated motor...it's almost infinetely buildable/upgradeable due to vast part resources.

And it was pretty fucking sweet just stock, too. 327 is one of my favorite motors.

Muscle cars are ok, but after buying a VW, I've taken a liking to German cars. There's just something about them. They fit my driving style.

I'd like to have this Audi R8.

My dream cars are all muscle cars and street rods (for the most part) because I know that I can play with them for a couple of years, and then sell them and not lose money, and potentially make money.

or a bentley..
My boss just bought an 08 LS. I'm not sure if you realize, those cars ARE pretty damn fast for as heavy and luxurious as they are. They have almost 400hp. His is black, and a real nice car. Set you back about 70k, though.

there is no such thing as a cls 550 amg. You can get the AMG option package which is wheels and trim but none of the other stuff that makes the AMG version $30000 more. If someone is trying to sell you a 550 as an AMG you are getting raped and lied to

there is a cls 550 which is the largest of the base model cls series and has a 5.5L V8 hence 550

there is a cls 63 AMG which is the high performance specialty version and has the 6.3L V8
i was planning on gettin one from autotrader. i didn't know the 550 didn't come in teh amg. shiiiiit, im not paying the $30000 for that. but i found a few on autotrader the cls 63 AMG for real decent price. with about 10-20K miles on them.
Have you thought about trying to get a dealer's test drive car? That's the way I'm going. I just missed one the other day with only 13km on it. It was at the price I want too.

there is no such thing as a dealer test drive car on an mercedes AMG. If you want one, you order it and wait til they say you can have one.

Thurman, how much do they want for the CLS 63 AMG with mileage on it? My dad paid 104 for his brand new last june.

Interesting. I guess you would need a good connection to hook up with one then. Actually, with the car I'm buying, my friend, who has his own car shop, is shopping around for it in the auctions that are for dealers only. He found one this past weekend that only had 13km on it but someone snatched it up before he could get to it. He seems to think that he can find something similar again, just gotta keep looking.

Ive never really been much of one for "dream cars"... I think I live a more in the moment in regards to what I can afford. I would love to have an old muscle car when I can afford to have a 4 car garage and have it as a toy...

So, my dream cars are always in the moment (like I said, what I can afford at the time- and obviously I upgrade every few years as I get older).

I love my new car:

2008 Passat turbo 6 speed manual with Eibach suspension, 18" Velos wheels, and the VW RGT body.
