Mel Kiper and Todd Mcshay latest mock

Recommended Posts

Was watching sportscenter at 6pm today (Saturday) and Mcshay and Kiper did a mock draft of the first 10 picks.
One of them did the odd number picks and the other the even number.

Lions-Stafford
Rams-J.Smith
Chiefs-Curry
Seahawks-Sanchez
Browns-Crabtree
Bengals-Monroe
Raiders-Maclin
Jags-Raji
Packers-A.Smith
49ers-Orakpo

Stafford and Jason Smith seemed locked in but the Chiefs may fool everyone by taking a wideout such as Crabtree or Maclin...
Theyve accumulated many backers in the off season... enough to shore up that position this season..
They need a playmaker in the pass offense... Gonzalez is aging and Bowe is the only wideout newly acqured Cassell may have confidence in..
Seatle trading Julian Peterson for a DT so they would definately take Curry at that spot over Sanchez imo..

Browns would could take the wideout the Chiefs pass on leaving the Bengals a vast array of choices...
Hopefully they take Maualuga and get their Olinemen in rounds two and three...

And there are talks that he may be on his way to ATL for a 2nd...deal was done then off, but heard it is supposed to be back on again.

Seattle had so much money tied up in the linebackers that they had to get rid of one of them and they weren't going to get rid of the man in the middle and the newly franchised player. Peterson had to go... they wrapped up way too much money into one general area of the defense. I do not see Seattle drafting Curry AT ALL. It would put them in the position they just worked themselves out of.

quite a few of the ones you highlighted are wrong, such as Otah and Talib, as well as Campbell.

You know what I did... I copied and pasted Kiper's mock and then went back and forth between this page and his mock to see who was in the right slots. No wonder he had all those right.

edit: i had the real draft results under a third tab which I seemed to have disregarded half the time.

Kiper does a mock because people love mocks but that is not what he makes his money doing. His job is player evaluations and he is pretty darn good at it.

There's a link to some information on the 2001 NFL draft... I haven't even read it yet but what he said about Warren was pretty off. Since it's 7 years ago it really lets you get an idea of how good he is at evaluations.
