QB position

Recommended Posts

Below is my list that I had made prior to the Palmer bombshell. I am not sure the order changes much. I think we have to both act like he is coming back and put ourselves in a good position should he not. I sincerely hope that no QB is being considered in round 1. None are worth it. However I would certainly take a long look at Locker, Gabbert and Mallett in round 2. I don't expect any of them to be there so I would turn to the next group. Cam Newton is a headache waiting to happen and this team seems to be heading in a different direction.

A lineup of Palmer-Thigpen-LaFaver-Dalton would work for me for TC.

* Denver Broncos kyle orton

I really like Stanzi, though my gut is telling me Jake Locker in the 2nd.

Stanzi in the 2nd is a reach IMO.

The problem with Locker is he is very inaccurate and that is the number one thing that will kill a QB in the NFL. If it is not mechanics that can be fixed that make him inaccurate then he will not be a good NFL QB...

Stanzi has "it"....

Stanzi in the second is a little high, but he will not be there in the 3rd I guarantee it... If the Bengals think Stanzi is a starting QB then they have to take him in the 2nd.

I like Cam Newton....but I don't see the Bengals taking him.

I am falling in love with Stanzi... so much so I think we should use our second round pick on him.

Reading up on Stanzi i was ssurprised about how muvh i liked him. I dont remember him really standing out in collrge. He was good but not special why do you like him so much?

The kid is accurate. Can make all the throws. Seems to have good leadership qualities. He elevated Iowa to a different level. The evidence I have of that is Iowa was a completely different team the two games he was hurt.

The kid throws amazingly well on the run. I just think he will translate well into a West Coast offense.

Watch the throws he makes at 1:12, 2:50, 3:11, 3:45(amazing!), 4:52.

Free agent....Seneca Wallace....By far the most underrated free agent. Career 60.4 completion percentage, 29 tds, 16 ints, 83.9 passer rating. I don't think any of thos eothe QBs on that list have a career passer rating that high. Last year he had a an 88.5 passer rating while playing for the lowly Browns. Plus he is such an amazing athlete that he actually returned punts and played some WR in Seattle.

Draft....UNC's T.J. Yates. the two stats to look at to determine if a college QB will be successful in the NFL are career starts and career completion percentage. I believe Yates is the only QB in this draft class with more than 40 career starts and a career completion percentage over 60%.

He has started since he was a freshman. Last year he completed 66.8% of his passes for 3500 yards and finished 25th in the nation in passer rating. I believe he was ninth in passer rating among the QBs in this year draft.

really liking the tape I'm watching of Yates. Sure its highlights so he's going to look good, but he seems to have a moxy about him that you don't see in every prospect, and he's got very good pocket presence. He's got plenty of zip, though they aren't always the prettiest things in the world.

He also looks like he runs a system similar to what Gruden wants. Quick 3-5 drops, RB's involved in the passing game, quick release.

I think Tavaris Jackson would fit very well in Gruden's system.

X2 I also think Thigpen would be a decent one to look at also, He was tendered by the phins so don't know.

I want Carson to be traded to the Vikings for the #12 pick.

Fairley/Julio Jones at #4
Ryan Mallett at #12

Two of my best friends are fans of the Vikings and Razorbacks.

no way you take Mallett that high.

I'm fairly intriguied by Ted Thompson's love for Matt Flynn. Kind of makes me wish we could get our hands on him. Green Bay is like a big QB tree.

All of their current QB's could start for any NFL team right now.
