Funny how people are immediately going to Joe Mixon with this shit..  Why not the Chiefs own Tyreek Hill?

Once again, easier to talk about individuals instead of the fact you couldn't count the number of domestic abusers in the NFL on your fingers

From everything I've read, she was the instigator of everything after she refused to leave, called him the n word, attacked his female friend, and then initiated physical contact with him in the hallway.

Everybody is lucky she wasn't seriously injured from that fall into the corner of the door frame though. That was tough to watch.

And the "kick" at the end wasn't much of a kick

My guess is that at least 5 people from the same incident showed up at the police station, all told their stories, and it wasn't worth the effort to proceed because there are too many moving parts that would never get solved

Nah. The correct answer and course of action, of course, is:

Walk away.

That’s it. You just walk away.

You know goddamned well what you have to lose. You know, by virtue of who you are and what you do, you CANNOT do things like that. You are a giant, walking target. You also know that every single human being around you has a phone capable of catching every word, shove, punch, and kick in bright, shiny 4K resolution, let alone the myriad of closed circuit cameras deployed, I dunno, everywhere.

His acts of physical violence alone, he’s gotten precisely what he deserves because of his incredibly limited mental capacity.

Seriously... I don't care what she was doing, there's no reason to be hitting a 19 year old girl.

You call security, You have your buys escort her out, whatever.... Don't be making excuses for the guy. Was he in immediate physical danger when he kicked her while she was on the floor? Because in ANY altercation, self-defense excuses end when the threat has dissipated. If you threaten me and I knock you out, it's a reasonable self defense claim. If I then stand over you and pummel your unconscious body, I have broken the law. There's no law that says "She called me a name, so I could hit and kick her as much as I like."

Totally disagree.  NFL is not paying money for shit like this.  The player’s union would go apeshit.

You think Goodell calls them and asks for permission?  I think NFL private security are highly-paid & really good at their jobs, ex-cops and the like.  They aren't getting scooped by TMZ.

There is no secret NFL police force.  It does not exist. Take the tin foil hat off.  They don’t care if dummies like Hunt do shit as long as there is no video.  They sure as hell are NEVER going to go out of their way to find it.

Huh?  This is just the first thing to pop up in a search, but yeah..   NFL absolutely has private security & investigators.

I would say "so long as the video isn't made public", but the results are the same.

Security is not the same as Investigation. Of course they have security every major corporation does.

They don’t have a secret investigation arm that covertly spies on players and makes sure they are not kicking 19 year old skanks in Cleveland.

I stand corrected. So they don’t seem very good at what they do though?  How did they allow this shit to get ahead of them? Same thing happened with Ray Rice.

That's the thing..  I can't say they're actively trying to cover things up (though that seems likely), but at best they're sitting back and hoping things blow over or won't get picked up by national media.  When you start looking at some of the crazy, messed-up shit these guys get up to it's kind of amazing what stays under the radar or how quickly it blows over even when it does come to light.  Maybe fans are just that jaded, like "oh an NFL player threw his pregnant gf down the stairs, what else is new?"  It's only when we see it on video that it makes much of an impact.  I have to assume we only hear about a fraction of this stuff so IDK that's its the security folks being bad at their jobs so much as just about everyone carrying a palm-sized video camera in their pocket.

Fascinating...

According to a report from The Athletic on Saturday, the Chiefs knew that this video existed and repeatedly attempted to obtain it. The team, though, was “told by the NFL to stop pursuing it later in February once the league began its investigation.”
