Man every libertarian I've met was basically anarchocapitalist with a very bizarre concept of the world around them or really just Republican but wanted legal drugs. 

 

I'd also suggest our reponse to 9/11 already created the police state & the framing of that as patriotism is a big part of the authoritarian mindset we're dealing with now. Weaponizing that fear to convince us compassion is weakness and strength comes from the ability to commit violence.

 

Almost a quarter century later the Taliban still rule Afghanistan & all the militant nationalist rhetoric has created a steady stream of radicalized US citizens routinely committing domestic terrorist attacks fueled by that same xenophobia.

 

The traitors that attempted the coup are a product of all this & I expect will continue to be a threat for a long time.

There's a clear change of leadership needing to happen.   Do they flop in the next election before the old guard steps aside?  There are still a handful of Dems that don't seem entirely like self-serving grifters.  I don't know how we unseat a branch of government operating like a crooked mutual fund. Gerrymandering, voting machine shenanigans, bomb threats at urban polling locations, intimidation from armed terrorist groups camping outside, setting the drop-off boxes on fire, selectively enforced ID laws...  SCOTUS is corrupt.  The President couldn't be more corrupt.

 

Even the candidate that won seems to have no faith in the voting process.  I don't think any of us are going to enjoy what replaces it.

Democratic Party needs a complete overhaul but the old guard

Guessing most everyone's seen MSNBC etc claiming Carville predicted the Trump admin is going to "collapse within 30 days".  I went looking for the primary source for this and it seems to be this NYT op-ed published yesterday.  There are, as expected, some pretty big "ifs" involved in that statement that, oddly, MSNBC & others don't really get into... 

 

Here's a quote: "it’s time for Democrats to embark on the most daring political maneuver in the history of our party: roll over and play dead."  Of course the last thing the MSM wants is one side to go quiet, since they feed off the drama & IMO have been gassing Trump up from the start.  Every time he or one of his minions say something idiotic it's blasted everywhere (rage porn.)  Given how much stupid is collected in such a small group of people, that's several times a day.  Every single time, some Democrat gives their fiery rebuttal that, while perfectly reasonable, ultimately accomplishes nothing.  He's suggesting they STFU and let the Republicans occupy center stage while they take a sledgehammer to everything. 

 

I'm not sure that's the best strategy, but at least it's a strategy.  I suspect their egos and the debt they owe to their benefactors will make it impossible for them to follow his advice.  I question whether his party is worth saving at all - certainly not with the current leadership & I don't expect them to go quietly.  I'm not sure what he thinks will happen exactly in 30 days beyond another 30 days of deliberate sabotage, or why he thinks we're going to have legitimate elections in 2 years, or at this rate why it would matter even if we do, like the legislative branch is going to save us from someone who ignores the law.  Virginia having a Democrat as governor does not sound like the beginning of a "crusade" to me, and I wouldn't call it that even if it did.

 

My reservations aside, Carville knows more about winning elections than most people living.

I don't know about it happening in 30 days, but I think that there is going to be a very public, very nasty breakup between the orange troll and the Muskrat. Both of them have huge egos and are alpha males, and only one big dog can emerge victorious. If the orange troll gets any inkling that the Muskrat is usurping his position as top dog (and there have already been plenty of political cartoons already implying that), then the Muskrat will be gone. 

 

On a different note, I (unfortunately) was exposed to an interview yesterday on Faux News with the Secretary of Commerce, and he was outlining the reasons why the new "Gold" Visas was such a good idea and how much revenue the program will bring in. I know other countries do it, and according to him, the applicants would have to be vetted. Who here thinks that all this program is going to do is bring in more Russian oligarchs and Chinese millionaires? Just what this country needs.

We already had an EB-5 visa, but those required vetting and an investment in job creation.  I assume these new "Gold" cards will be sold at his discretion, so not available to the cartels but ok for the Russian mobsters he's been very publicly working with since the 90's. It's DEI for dirtbags - white gangsters only, please.

 

As for Musk, they're stuck with one another. If not because of the billions he spent turning Xitter into a Russian trollbot farm & his help with election rigging, there's also the kompromat on both from all the child raping with Maxwell/Epstein.
