It's going to come down to Katy signing Chase and players can play what we get signed for.

Except for Brown, who wanted to be here and took a below market deal, the others were signed when Joe was on his rookie contract. 

 

In the 2023 and 2024 offseasons, we haven't signed many good players, other than Brown. The excuse last year was they were saving their money to extend Chase.

The extension was for 1 year. He was coming off a 17 sack season last year. That's why.

Exactly. People must have short memories. Most of those moves on the list was the off-season before super bowl. So tired of the bengal hating media. Bengals are cheap, bengals don't want to win. 2 seasons removed from back to back AFCC games. All of a sudden, they're same old bengals again before FA even starts. And if the bengals pull it off and make the right moves, most of the haters won't admit it.

He was coming off an 8 sack season the year before, with 2 seasons left when they extended him.  He had a 14 sack, followed by 8, got extended, and gets 17.5.  And wants extended again.  So Good, average, Great.  So, are you betting on Great again, or average to good?

His 8 sack season was in 2022 when he missed time with a back injury. He seems to have healed up nicely so I'd bet on continued high level play. That's also why there is considerable interest in trading for him from the rest of the league. Maybe he has a career ending injury in game 1 this year but that's not the way to bet.
