Yeah, I get a lot of patients with a tooth ache. It's always, "My dentist can't see me for two weeks." Somehow 2 weeks is almost always the magical number.

I've checked outside the building and no where does it say "Dentist."

I can numb a tooth for a good 6 hours with some lidocaine/marcaine mix and a well placed dental nerve block. There is a dental clinic less than 5 miles down the road that sees walk-in patients. If they want that shot, they're definitely in pain. However, if they don't want the shot I can't say they're faking.

I remember a back pain patient who I gave the benefit of the doubt, but something was just bugging me about her. Later, I had a nurse call the pharmacies for me. The patient had received 270 tablets of xanax from 2 different doctors dispensed from 3 different pharmacies in a 9 day period. Fuckity, fuck, fuck, fuck...now my name is on the bottle of Lorcet I just prescribed her. Fuck. I'm not a vet and don't know how much it would take to tranquilize a horse, but I think 270 tablets of xanax and 30 tablets of Lorcet would be a good place to start.

The parenthesis joke was classic. LOL

My Job

Good
I work 5 days a week and the first and third Saturdays are mornings. I get to work with children and watch them grow into little people. Classes get canceled left and right so I get free time handed to me every now and then. The pay is great and I get huge bonuses twice a year. I have complete freedom in what I teach and when I do have free time I can sneak out and not be missed. On top of, that since I'm a school teacher, the schedule basically works out that every three months I have at least 2 weeks off....paid. As far as jobs go I have one of the best jobs you could ask for. Trust me, I've done my share of shit work. I deserve the one I have now.

Bad
Every first and third Saturday I have to work the mornings. I don't have any classes on Saturday so I see no reason why I should have to drive the hour there and the hour back, using all that gas, so I can sit on my ass at my desk and surf the net..........and not be able to look at any porn. But, that's part of my job description so I gotta do it.
MULLY

P.S. I've also been to Australia 3 times paid for by the school. To top it off I got an extra thousand dollars in my pay each time to cover my expenses down there......they were 10 day trips. I only used about 600 each time. The rest was mine. Probably going again next year in October.

Wow, that's a lot of pills :o

Could be selling them, though. That could bring in some major cash, how much would that cost to buy from the pharmacy?

In my opinion, teachers have got to be one of the most influential forces in a person's life. What would I be doing without my first grade teacher Mrs. Dixon teaching me how to read?

Not this.

I don't think I could do it, though.

I damn sure couldn't be a day care worker. I don't know how they can do it, either.
Sweet man. What kind of work? I'm 16 by the way will be 17 June 7
At the Aquatics center as a lifeguard. I'm the manager there, we pretty much exclusively hire teenagers and college aged students. It wouldn't start for paid hours until the beginning of June, but it would be different. But we WORK. My guards take anywhere from 25-40+ hours a week, but they basically get off what they ask off as long as they are working some hours, and we don't keep them longer than the schedule says.

So you'd have to be able to swim. And the pay, which used to be really competitive, seems kinda crappy nowadays with Ohio's increasing minimum wage. It's currently at 7.00 /hr for the first season. You could work it every Summer until you graduate college (and beyond if you're creepy like me :D ).

But the guards do work on weekends, I suspect it wouldn't be as big a problem though, because it would be summer, and we close at 8:00, guards are always out by 8:30, such that you still have your entire night to yourself.

You can PM me if your interested, we start taking applications the 1st.

Yeah, that is a lot of pills. I was being compassionate and got fooled. I should have listened to that little voice in my head that was saying, "Something ain't right, here."

Selling them? Possibly, I considered that. I don't think that was the case.

The cost would depend upon the prescription plan and whether the meds are considered 1st, 2nd, or 3rd tier medications. I've got too many other things to memorize. This information changes all the time anyways. A pharmacist could give you a better answer.

My job: I'm a Project Manager for a small business which engineers, manufactures and distributes captive screws and specialty hardware. I also do a little purchasing/procurement, customer service and supplier management as wer're a small company.......must carry out multiple functions.

Good: Small company so not your typical corporate atmosphere; very flexible hours (I usually go in anywhere from 8am - 9:30am); Paid holidays, 3 wks paid vacation/yr, I started working there before I graduated from UC and helped to grow the business from 1.2m per year to 3.8m this year......I don't feel like a statistic.......I have a very important role in our company. Full benefits and they're FREE; Matching 401k; Profit sharing; Work directly under President and Vice President of company......they're my bosses and good people; Can spend a third of my day on this site

Bad: Small company so my salary is not as high as I would like it to be but that's pretty much the only negative I can think of.

Captive Screws. People never know what I'm talking about when I reference them. I feel like I'm the only one who ever reads a technical manual.

I feel your pain..........

People ask me what I do and I tell them I work for a manufacturing company and after they ask what we manufacture and I say captive screws, they look at me kinda funny. I never realized the processes a screw goes through from raw wire to the final product.

It's a sign of the times... you say captive screws and people are wondering why anyone would hold a screw hostage...

Many managers will do the schedule, and when it's done, their done.

They'll look over it for errors, but seldom to they try to account for things like days off, not coming in early after a late night, people who live far away and short shifts, etc.

Just try to do better whenever you end up with a bunch of people you're in charge of.
