OSU's success is coming from the QB position. The players around him are of average to above average talent, but like a great player, Miller makes the others around him better.

Braxton has been impressive. But the offensive line is starting to gel as a unit now too, and they are becoming a great unit.

It's startling how bad the defense was last night. Especially when you consider there are 2 certain first round picks on that defense, and 2 more that should go no later than 3.

I can cut them a little slack considering 2 starting DB's were playing injured, MLB Storm Klein got hurt early in the 4th, and starting fullback Zach Boren played significant snaps at LB.

3 horrible replay calls from the refs btw. 2 that there wasn't enough evidence to overturn, but were, and another where there WAS enough evidence to overturn, but it wasn't.

Offense put up a bunch of points, but left 21 on the field between 2 dropped TD's by Smith, a missed FG, and Miller's INT in the endzone on 2nd and goal.

Yeah, a little slack.

But not 49 points to Indiana slack.

true, but Indiana's offense is also really good. Particularly the passing game. I thought they'd score in the low 20's as it was.

Indiana probably has the best offense OSU has seen so far this season.

Meyer said at one point last week in practice that 5 linebackers were out with injuries.[/background]

WoW what a horrible job taking a delay of game penalty on third and long with just over 3 minutes left in the game.

I can't believe The Ohio State buckeyes are about to lose to Purdue. Fans will be disappointed but what can you expect from a young QB playing an extended amount of playing time.

That sucks, what happened to Miller?
Got pulled down from behind horse-collar style (though it wasn't a HC, just by the outside of his jersey) and was slammed down on his shoulder\neck.

Could be broken collar bone, clavicle, or he royally fucked up his neck. The fact that they transported him to the hospital isn't a really good sign...

The way he was carried off the field by staff, his head was hanging forward. They didn't put a brace on his neck on the field, nor did they support one of his arms, which is what they typically what they do with a broken collarbone. I would say it is a concussion and that he didn't respond well to the questions the staff was asking him, so they took him to the hospital for further tests.

Yeah it does look like a horse collar tackle. The defender didn't have the shoulder pads, but it did look like his hand had back collar of the jersey. NBC halftime reporter said it was a "head" injury.

Concussion. About to be released from the hospital. No symptoms.

Amazing that they won that game.
With as bad as he looked being helped off the field and into the ambulance, I'd almost think it would impossible for him to come back next week. Did you hear if he was knocked out?

Better than a break or tear if some sort, but then you can only get so many concussions...

Miller being given clean bill of health is more amazing than the dramatic victory over Purdue.[/background]

OSU SID said doctors looked at Miller's shoulders, head and neck and found nothing amiss. Pretty remarkable.[/background]
