Mike Zimmer passed over for Head Coaching jobs. Appears to be staying with the Bengals.

I too feel for Zimmer, but happy for us!

But seriously Schiano? If I were Zimmer I would be saying WTF! The guy has done nothing but underachieve as a College HC at Rutgers. Being a UC fan, I certainly have watched alot of Rutgers games in the Big East over the years. Perhaps Zimmer needs to look at the positive, he won't being working for an Organization who was stupid enough to hire Schiano as their NFL HC.

When was the last time a Bengals coach was hired away to HC another team? I can't remember it ever happening.

You must be a little more on the younger side of 35. BILL WALSH!

Bill took a gig being the HC at Stanford between us and the 9'ers.

What he said.

This reminds me of how Marvin kept getting skipped over

Gladd he's still here but I cant help but think his time will come.

Coslet was promoted from within, his question was about HCing another team.
[/quote]

Didn't Coslet go from OC here to HC in New York, then come back here as a HC?

Edit, he came back from New York as OC and was promoted to HC. But yes, he left here as OC to be the Jets HC in 1990.

***this***

Or an organization that would fire a guy after one bad season, Raheem Morris went 10-6 in 2010 and got screwed out of making the playoffs(the Seahawks finished 7-9 and got in because they won their division). In 2011 his qb hurts his hand at a gun range and doesn't say anything until a month after stinking up the field and he's fired, after one bad year. I thought Morris had enough goodwill earned from the 2010 to atleast get him one more year, but I guess not.

When the time is right Zimmer will get his shot and he will have success.

I think it had more to do with the fact that Morris was supposed to be a huge defensive mind and invested a ton of high draft picks in the defense, and ended up with one of the worst D's in the league this season.

Great news!

I wouldn't feel too sorry for him...he's a well-paid coordinator, in total charge of a Top-10 defense on a rising team, working for an organization who loves him.

Somehow, I would see that as preferrable to being a two-year rent-a-coach, on organizations who don't give a fuck about any of their people (and I'm not just talking about Tampa either).
