Green and Andy Dalton are on deck to become the first rookie wide receiver-quarterback combo from the same team in the history of the Pro Bowl next week in Hawaii. The club was waiting for official word from the NFL Sunday night. With Brady quarterbacking the Patriots into the Super Bowl via Sunday’s victory over the Ravens in Foxboro, Mass., Dalton is in line to takes his spot as the first alternate in next Sunday’s AFC-NFC All-Star game (7 p.m.-Cincinnati’s Channel 5) at Honolulu’s Aloha Stadium. Also waiting for the official word Sunday was the Bengals’ other first alternate, second-year man Geno Atkins, expected to become the first Bengals’ defensive lineman to make the game since nose tackle Tim Krumrie played in the game following the 1987 season. With New England’s Vince Wilfork going to Indianapolis with Brady, Atkins is next in line to take the spot next to Baltimore’s Haloti Ngata and Oakland’s Richard Seymour. Last month Green became the first Bengals rookie voted to the AFC team since wide receiver Cris Collinsworth 30 years ago when he broke Collinsworth’s club record with 1,057 yards in becoming the first rookie to catch 1,000 yards in five years. Dalton would become the first rookie quarterback to play in the Pro Bowl since Vince Young in 2006. Brady, a seven-time Pro Bowler, hasn’t played in Hawaii the since the week after led the Pats to the second of his three Super Bowl rings against Carolina to cap the 2004 season. Bengals quarterback Carson Palmer played in the next two and his MVP performance following the 2006 game marked his last Pro Bowl appearance.
