Mahi Mahi on the Sunday Menu

Sunday’s loss to the Patriots was rough, and this Monday isn’t looking any brighter for the Dolphins. The club has learned that cornerback Bobby McCain and center Daniel Kilgore both suffered injuries in Sunday’s 38-7 drumming, according to Barry Jackson of The Miami Herald (on Twitter). McCain is dealing with a knee injury while Kilgore has a torn triceps.

There is no timetable for Kilgore, but a torn triceps is a serious injury with a high risk for a repeat tear if the player is not given enough time to heal properly. Logic dictates that Kilgore is a candidate to go on injured reserve with a chance to return later this year, but we’ll have to wait for more info on that front.

McCain, meanwhile, is expected to miss two or three weeks. The slot specialist is an integral part of Miami’s defense – as evidenced by his four-year, $27MM extension – so the Dolphins are hoping to get him back on the field as soon as possible. At minimum, he’ll miss contests against the Bengals and Bears.

Missing their Center and slot cornerback...

Mahi mahi is delicious.

And you may not know it, but mahi mahi is also often referred to as the "dolphin fish" (hence the usage of the term in reference to the Dolphins team), even though it's a fish and the dolphin is a mammal. It confuses people whom are stupid and convince themselves they're eating Flipper.

I spent a week on a catamaran in Thailand last year; the skipper and 1st Mate always had 2-3 lines running behind us in the water, hoping to catch anything for sushi.

Towards the end they finally got a hit -- dolphinfish and yellowfin tuna.  MAN, it was good.

I was wondering why you spelled it that way Harry. I thought it was on purpose but couldn't figure out why.

I also thought it really was Flipper.

I spelled it that way because that's how I thought it was spelled.

I don't eat fish.

There's only two things that smell like fish and one of them is fish.

Lol. I could live on fish. I only knew it as mahi mahi. Just learned it is also called dolphinfish or dorado. I also have gone on to learn that sushi is not fish, sashimi is.:26:

I would eat that again.

Oh, I would totally crush that. I love raw, fresh fish. And there ain't much fresher than right out of the water. And that asian slaw/soup/whatever condiments look delish too.

What, pray tell, is the other?

True, but it's become such a catchall term for so many people...

If Mixon plays, we can do without Bernard and use Walton and/or Rawls to spell him. If Ross doesn't play, then AJ Green and Tyler Boyd will have even more catches. Last thing I want is Ross poaching a TD catch (for his only reception) from a much more deserving WR.

Its Friday and I really want to see what roster moves are going to be made.

Yeah, I get not tipping their hand until the last minute so nothing really settled until the inactives are set Sunday.

Come to think of it. I probably won't know until afterward because I will be there.  I think its flashed on the screen briefly and only once.

Burfict and Mixon have to be activated.

No secret Eifert will go on IR making room for one.

Tupo waived and re-signed to practice squad later is my thinking.

Which leaves will Gio and Ross be dinged up enough to be inactive?

What about Lawson?

Have to wait for today's injury report update for some indication.

Do the activate Washington and Tate?

Hope so but the Bengals being the Bengals, probably not.

At least both of them.

And what's up with the deserted secret tunnel leading to the brothel in "Myans MC"?

Does it have something to do with Brett Kavanaugh and the other members of the

Rehobeth Beach Police Department Fan Club?  Yes, I think it does.

The Bengals and Dolphins will both be down several starters when they face off on Sunday.

For the Bengals, they’ll be without John Ross, who is out with a groin injury suffered in the win at Atlanta. Ross was able to get in a limited practice on Wednesday. He also played through the injury on Sunday, so for now, it doesn’t appear to be serious, and he could be back as soon as next week when the Stealers come to town.

The news is not as good for Giovani Bernard, who has an MCL injury that will sideline him for 2-4 weeks. With Bernard out, the Bengals will rely heavily on Joe Mixon this week, as he returns following a two-game absence with his own knee injury.

As expected, starting center Billy Price was ruled out with his foot injury, which will sideline him a few more weeks.

Thankfully, no one else is on the final report, including Michael Johnson (knee), Preston Brown(shoulder), and Carl Lawson (ankle).

As for the Dolphins, they’ve already ruled out starters AJ Derby and Bobby McCain, while pass-rushing specialist Cameron Wake is doubtful to play. Not having Wake would be a major loss for a Dolphins defense that needs pressure Andy Dalton to win on Sunday.

Making matters worse for the defense are both starting safeties being questionable to play in Rashad Jones and TJ McDonald. That would be really bad news against a Bengals offense that just rang up 37 points in Atlanta.

Line moved from 5.5 to 6.5 in many places. Looks like Cincy is gaining some believers.

Cincinnati by 5.5?  Or 6.5? That's disrespectful.

To the Dolphins!

And, as OT icing on the fish cake, Season 9 of "The Walking Dead" premiers that night.

That show jumped the zombie shark for me 3+ seasons(?) ago. It was around the time the trash people appeared out of whatever bad 80's sci fi movie they'd been lurking in.  A couple of episodes later I forgot to watch and realized I just didn't care any more.
