claptonrocks
Linebacking unit was atrocious last year... The players themselves could play to a better level if coached up properly. Bengals in a basic 4-3 would go with SS Pratt..bad tackler..needs to wrap and roll..became a good coverage player in 2nd half..thats a huge plus at linebacking.. MLB Bynes...decent player..legit savy vet..hes on the downside as a starter.. MLB...Wilson is a smart thick and tough backer .... The experience he got will pay dividends this year.. WS..Davis-Gaither showed promise last quarter of season..quick and fast.. We play a 4-2-5 for the most part so you have Gaither and Wilson rotating on run or pass downs.. 3 young promising players with potential to be a good unit.. Bad they were in 2020.. Maybe a big surprise out of them being experienced and stronger ths year... Maybe adding Jabril Cox as another coverage backer with 4th round pick (If hes on tbe board) .. Btw...teach the promising Pratt the art of wrap and roll. .Might help him achieve a higher level in his play..
UncleEarl
Need a LB that can cover! Better line play makes for better LB play when it comes to tackles and sacks. Keep those linemen off the backers.
spicoli
What LB is going to cover these hybrid TE's in the NFL today? I'm gonna say not many. Those guys are absolute match up nightmares. That's one of the reasons that Pitts is so intriguing to me.

They will adjust to TEs.
spicoli
It’s gonna be awhile IMO. There’s not a LB in the NFL that’s going to be able to cover Kyle Pitts.

spicoli
Not saying he’s better than Kelsey right this minute but he will be a lot tougher match-up, IMO. His speed, size and catch radius are second to none and are going to give DC’s nightmares from day one.

So because Pitts is a generational-type talent he was supposed to single-handedly win a NC? Is that how it works? I guess I’m saying if the Bengals draft him they’re going to win a SB? Hardly the case.

I know the kid is a good prospect, but I'm in the "prove it" camp. There will be LBs that can cover these guys. The scouts have to adjust what they are looking for in play and measurables. sparky151
I guess we've forgotten Isiaiah Simmons already? Part of the advantage of someone like Pitts is that the defense probably has to play a big safety to match up with him instead of a LB. That usually means the run game works better. I mean that's it right there. It's going to take a big athletic safety hybrid-type to cover these guys and there just aren't very many of those in the NFL at the moment. If Pitts were going up against the Bengals D he'd be matched up against Bates, and as good as Bates is, that's still a big mismatch in favor of Pitts. It's going to take the league a few years to adjust to these guys, I guarantee it.

Kid is absolutely no joke. I have him as the #2 overall prospect in this draft. I'm expecting 10+ TDs year one regardless of where he ends up. He's pretty much what LeBron would've been if he had chosen football over basketball.

I now pronounce you player and fan..as in fanatic...thats a good thing about being a fan .. I cant argue with what you see in him . I believe he could be what you say.. Loved to have more film on him besides one year but thats how it is now ..

Guys who are 6'4" but with decent 3 cone times. There are a number of them but typically they are playing centerfield instead of matching up with a TE from the snap. I mean he could completely go off the deep end when he gets handed all that money and never amount to anything. Until that happens however, he's the second best player in this draft in my mind. spicoli
He runs every route. You can line him up in the slot or put him outside. He has fantastic hands. He's literally LeBron on a football field. That's all I see when I watch him. Nothing he can't do. No clue about character. That's for the scouts.
