The Chase "melt down" flag

It's hard not to come to the conclusion that the inability to get a contract extension has thrown off his play and energy personally and perhaps the team locker room.

I still feel like this team needs to get that issue resolved, so they can have "all hands on deck". Even though reports are Chase took out a $50 million dollar insurance policy against injury and is done negotiating until after the season.

Additionally, he's drawing double teams every play with Tee not out there, so he's creating opportunities for others, but he's such a playmaker that he's not going to be satisfied as a valuable decoy

Most of the Twitterati just sees his lack of catches and yards and thinks he's stinking it up and doing nothing for the team, when actually most of the other's catches come on his side of the field because he draws all the coverage.

At least we know the Bengals aren't the dog-shit team we saw against New England...Cincy went toe-to-toe with perennial super bowl power Kansas City on the road and nearly came away with a win...there's 15 games left to the regular season, let's win all 15!

If you expect to get paid $350,000 for every pass you catch, you'd better not put your team behind the 8-ball because you can't control your emotions in a crucial moment of a huge game.

Chase sat out weeks of practice and was therefore of limited use in a game last week where he could've made an enormously greater difference had he been fully integrated into the offense. Now, he turns a make-able 3rd-and-7 into an impossible 3rd-and-22 in a game that just handed KC the tie-breaker.

We've now thrown away 2 games (yet again) to start the season. And this time, Chase has been a big part of that.

The psychoanalyst in me sees a different Ja'Marr in his eyes. I would guess he feels hurt and underappreciated because of the way the contract talks went.

He's also likely catching a different vibe from teammates who may be a little uneasy around him as well.

Nobody will be able to convince me that if this team extended him 2 months ago, this team wouldn't be 2-0. But now the question is where they go from here?

If not being made the NFL's highest paid WR with 2 years remaining on his contract completely derails his game like this he does not deserve that kind of extension.  Sitting out of practices & dragging the team down with a lack of focus in big moments does not equal "better give him whatever he wants!" for me.  Quite the contrary.

During an emotional encounter .

Was he wrong?...yes

He felt wronged and was overcome with it

How about a fumble  from our leader and recovered for a Chef TD..

That hurt me the most.

... They are still human and emotions obviously get involved.

The vibe is obviously off to me. And now he's having a Burfict / Pac Man reaction on the field, which isn't like him.

Don't know it's not the first time he lost his cool against that team. He did it when Eric Reid goaded him into making that "dollar dollar bills" sign that ended up getting him a flag.

He needs to learn to not let that team in his head.
