What does ambrosia have to do with Cincinnati chili?

:ninja:
I meant a copy of a book by Ambrose Bierce.

I kind of hate mentioning this, but a friend of mine who is a...ahem...stealers fan...invites me over to his place whenever the Bengals and stealers play. He usually gets a quart of Cincinnati chili from Hard Times just for me--he likes it too, but won't admit it. It's good, but like Jamie said...not as good.

The only people who think any other chili is better than Dixie are the people who never tried Dixie and my wife <_<

In this order

Dixie
Gold Star
Stegners
Worthingtons

I'll admit that Cincinnati chili has grown on me, however, I prefer to think of it more as a sauce than true chili. I've lived in Texas and tasted/enjoyed true chili. Skyline, etc is only called chili, but it is an entirely different animal. I do like it though, just not on spaghetti. Coneys are the only way to go for me.
For real chili, I prefer spicier, meatier, thicker concoctions with red kidney beans and preferably over white rice than spaghetti, or, meaty anough that no carbohydrate is required at all.

Indeed--Cincinnati chili is a type of food that isn't really chili--I'd call it goulash or something (who knows...). I put up with a lot of grief from Texans because of the Cincy chili--they can't seem to accept that it doesn't purport to be Chili as such--rather, it purports to be Cincinnati-style. The use of the word chili is confusing and perhaps even unfortunate.

Cincy chili is chili in name only. And again, I do think it tastes great. It just doesn't share the common attributes with what I would ascribe the true defenition of CHILI to be.
But it's all good. I eat it.

Skyline. Is there any other???

As for it being watery, etc. let me help you out.

Try ordering like this!!!

3-Way (DRY!!!!!), on a jumbo plate
1 Cheese, no onion
Extra bowl of cheese and crackers, please.

Lunch / Dinner of gods...

Everytime I'm in town it is Skyline and UDF malts. Beautiful thing. My wife is from Knoxville and I've even got her hooked on Skyline - she has to have it everytime we're in town.
