ya know how wendys makes thier chili? they take the meat thats too overcooked or burnt up or fucked up to serve on a sandwich and toss it in a pan that sits near the grill, then once they have a huge pot of it every other day or so they set it on the stove in grease to bring it back to a brownish color and soak up the gease, then they drain it and chop it up with spatula(sp?) get the frozen ingedients and put the big bowl in the sink and put sink water in there, toss in the meat, the vegies, and a packet of chili power. stir it all up, then hose off the edges of gunk into the chili (wouldnt want to waste 3 shrivels of onions you know) and let it sit on the stove for fucking ever.. then pour it into the square chili container that sits up front...


fuck that noise twice...

when you work at a fast food place there are things you will never ever ever eat again after seeing them prepared...

skyline or goldstar actually has the same, if not MORE meat in the chili than the others (unless some 15 yr old asshole made it in mason or something) its just ground up in smaller peices.. and i hate onion tomataos peppers etc.. so meat and chili powder is all im looking for in chili...

And for folks who are not sold on Cincy Chili here are a couple of reco's that are not Skyline and Goldstar:

1) Camp Washington
2) Blue Ash Chili (also has killer double decker sandwiches)
3) Athenian Chili (sp?) in Sharonville

GOLD STAR, MOTHERFUCKER!!! I'll eat any of them but Gold Star rules all. Living in Japan, of course, I don't have a chance to eat Cincinnati chili. Every time I step off a plane in Cincy I go straight to Gold Star, in the airport, and load up. I was in town last August, too bad I didn't know of you guys then, and I swear to God I ate some form of Cincy chili every day. I was there for a month. I even got the Gold Star 6 pack of cans and brought it back here with me. It was good but it wasn't the same.

All the chains suck... If I have to I will eat Gold Star because I think skyline is too bland...

But if you want real Cincinnati Chili you have to go to Camp Washinton... That place kicks all others ass...

I worked at a Skyline YEARS ago... They don't even make that shit there. The chili comes in a huge plastic bag... One huge freeze dried chili log.... They then dump the log into this huge couldren, fill it with sink water and let it boil a while...

Yeeeshh!

Camp Washington actually makes thier chili at the parlor.. They even grind thier own chuck to put in it..

It's meaty and spicy,,, Fuck the watered down freeze dried bullshit!

Ok, I'll give you this one....not that they all suck...but that Camp Washington kicks ass. Only problem is the area. I remember going down there many a time when I would go to Annies and then head over towards Western Hills late at night. I'd hit the viadoct there at Camp Washington and grab a few conies, middle of the night mind you, and that place was scarier than shit. I wouldn't even want to be there these days. I can't imagine it got any better down there.
