i need a team too root for since my boy timmy tourettes is on loan and united hasnt picked up adu, yet. so, i guess that means united, fulham, reading, and west ham are on the top right now until i figure out a better reasoning besides yanks abroad

I saw the news on ESPN News yesterday. I am pretty excited...Germany was pretty damn stellar this past WC.

Hopefully he can find a formation that we can score more then one goal out of. I pray we don't stay in the 4-5-1. It just doesn't work for us. We don't really have that kind of playmaker up there yet.

if he can create a lineup (comething arena sucked at), keep players from being intimidated, and develop young talent, then we will be just fine.

we dont have an excess of talent but we definitely have enough to surprise some people.

rossi and adu could be our future, or they could play for italy and ghana if we dont do this the right way. time will tell i suppose.

Well shit...

Klinsmann is a no go.

http://msn.foxsports.com/soccer/story/6241726

Klinsmann withdraws from U.S. job

The official said an announcement would be made later Thursday. He spoke on condition of anonymity because the USSF statement had not yet been released.

Klinsmann had been the favorite to succeed Bruce Arena, who was let go in July after 7 1/2 years. Arena coached the American team to the World Cup quarterfinals in 2002, the best showing by the United States since 1930, but the U.S. team was eliminated in the first round this year.

A close friend of Arena, Klinsmann led Germany to the World Cup semifinals this year in his first professional coaching assignment. He lives in Newport Beach, California - a close commute to the U.S. Soccer Federation's National Training Center in Carson, also home to Major League Soccer's Los Angeles Galaxy and Chivas USA.

<_<

So who else is out there..?

sorry boys, but the duece is loose!!!

...and pairing up with probably my #2 favorite player of all time in mcbride over at craven. (alongside of boca who just helped fuckup chelsea, btw)

Terry targets rapid recovery as surgery gamble reaps reward
Tom Dart and Kaveh Solhekol, The Times (UK)
December 30, 2006
"Clint Dempsey has agreed to join Fulham in a £1.5 million deal, butthe United States and New England Revolution attacking midfield playerwill not be eligible to play for the West London club until thetransfer window opens and until he receives a work permit.

Dempsey, 23, is unlikely to make his Premiership debut until the matchaway to West Ham United on January 13. “We expect him to make a bigimpact,” Coleman said. “He is strong, has good pace and a good touch. He has all the tools in his locker to be a good player in the PremierLeague...”

so apparently the times wants me to become a fulham supporter... well, i already have my man u jersey and flag from when timmy was bought (then loaned :( ) and i saw them play barca in phily, and my snazzy aston villa jersey that i have since tossed aside due to their new ownership... so i guess ill look into fulham some more and see what happens.

oh, and hopefully all of his paperwork goes through and fsc decides to televise the hammers matchup. things should start getting pretty interesting soon.
Demp is going to be the man in the premiership. Hopefully Twellman follows closely behind.

We are going to tear some shit up in '10.
Maybe we will do better if Donovan grows some and heads back to Europe, although there's really no chance of that happening.

so the gooch to fulham talks have slowly trailed on to ?

but, it looks like theres a pretty good chance becks will be coming to la!

*sigh*

i guess it would improve attendance for the young league if he signs, and since rm pretty much said hes done there and a fairly reliable blog stated that the gals are about to make a 4 yr, $36M contract offer, the chances of him coming to the mls are actually fairly decent.

edit: and as a pretty cool side note, i found this from the chats chad has been having on his site
DaddyCincinnati: Where did you learn to handle the soccer ball like you did last night?
Chad: Soccer is my first love, then comes football. One of my best friends is Thierry Henry.

That would be pretty sweet to see beck in u.s. That would probably lure me to head up to a crew game.

And Thierry Henry is a badass. I wonder if he can play some running back or safety.

Donavon gets a legit goal.

Mexico's goalie is a piece of shit.

Timmy Howard OWNS.

And Zinadene making a jump to New York?

Aweeesommeee
Even thou we won, am i the only one that thinks it was dumb to schedule a game vs mexico that close to mexico? they need to make sure those games are only played in the north east. I'm sick of all the games vs mexico looking like road games.
Where did you hear that about Zinadene?

the game was scheduled in pheonix in order to ensure a sell out, little do the mexican'ts know it was only to make sure the ussf received a nice $ for scheduling hte game in pheonix... had the friendly meant anything it would have been scheduled in ne of columbus... anyways

ahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahhahahahaha

oswaldo "dirty" sanchez

lol mexico

the odds of zizoh going to rbny = 25%

the best news is the rapids partnership with arsenal

two concacaf champions cup matches today on fox soccer channel for the two mls squads representing america. dc united and houston both travel to take on their opponents in a home and away series with the home games bith coming on march 1st.

notes: dc united got the birth to the tourney by winning the supporters shield (best record, regular season) and houston dynamo won the mls cup. houstons game seems to be the most difficult. dc gave a big fuck you to olimpia and went ahead and bought their best player (a striker named luciano emilio) a few weeks back. in fact they arrived at the stadium escorted by police an soldiers carrying ak-47s after meeting with the ambassadors to america and the president of honduras. olimipia has apparently played like shit as of recently but are still a quality club and have a very large advantage over dc as they are in mid season form and dc has only had 3 weeks worth of practices and very limited scrimmages. no honduran club has ever beaten a mls club. in the past this tourney was not taken all that seriously by any of the participants, but since the recent success of american soccer clubs and the national team, as well as a possible trip to the newly reinstated fifa club world championships for the champions and an invite to copa sudamerica (?) for the runner up. this has the possibility to turn into one hell of a competition.

DC United @ CD Olimpia 9:00pm EST Fox Soccer Channel (replay tomorrow at 1)
Houston Dynamo @ Puntarenas 2:30pm EST Fox Soccer Channel (replay at midnight)
both teams will host their home games on march 1st
Yup huge game against Bolton tomorrow...the threat of all these lawsuits against West Ham by Wigan and Sheffield United hopefully fosters the "us against the world" attitude and we beat the shit out of the Northern Bastards :P
:headbang: :headbang:

WTF is up with all these stupid lawsuits? I don't really understand the politics, but since the FA approved the acquisition of those players, isn't it pretty damn stupid that the FA isn't the defendant in any lawsuits? Silly stuff...

The way I see it, now that the Premier League has ruled not to deduct points, that issue is dead and buried. West Ham paid the 5.5 Million pound fine and that's it. No points deducted.

However, all the clubs around the relegation zone, are potentially basing the cases on if they get relegated...they will lose about 20 million pounds in tv revenue from leaving the premiership (and the new tv deal) . So their argument will be, West Ham pled to wrong doing, they should have been docked points, they weren't, we suffered as a result. We lost revenue. West Ham pay us.

West Ham will respond...new mgmt...deal was done by the old guys. We actually came forward to highlight the problem. We paid the fine. Now go fuck yourselves etc...

all moot point if they don't win tomorrow. c'mon you HAMMERS!
