I must be the black sheep, I think their pizza is terrible and smells like body odor
but I do love their hoagies and cheese fries....
No, Beotch, you are not a black sheep, or else we are both black sheep, because I don't tolerate their rubbish pies either. Maybe the Mt. Washington location I visited made a bad impression on me since it is literally located in the back of a dirty little mom n' pop hardware store, complete with dog. The modest, somewhat-ramshackle 'storefront' doesn't do justice to the dinginess and filth inside. Take a look:

The only times I would get a pizza from there would be when a coupon showed up in the Entertainment book or elsewhere for a free small 1-topping pizza, no purchase required. Had I payed actual money for the garbage I received each time, I would overwhelmingly regret having done so.

And don't get me started about Marion's. If you think LaRosa's is a ripoff, you've obviously never been to its Marion's, where you can eat your overpriced pizza with a cracker crust.

Are there Godfathers any more? They used to be my favorite. In basic training in San Antonio, me and this other guy on our 1 day break from bullshit took a bus across town looking for one. It was worth it. Especially after eating slop for 6 weeks.

And Tory, that Mt Washington Angilo's is all you said it was. We live a couple miles from there and ate it once. I'd rather drive to Sharonville or Reading than eat from there again.

yea, i cant finish one, even in two sittings, but i always get hosed on cheese with a medium, i ate it for lunch, took a nap, and ate it for dinner, and still left 3 peices, but its like $8 for a large, why not? and my son has started liking pizza at the ripe age of not even 2 yet, he ate 2 peices as well, along with his healthy baby food crap we make him eat,

good ass pizza.
I grew up in Reading as well (until 8th grade). And the sad thing is we too had pizza night every Friday and Angilos was the best - must have been a Reading thing. I have not had their pizza for atleast 10 years. Damn, I think I might have to go back to the old stomping grounds for a some pizza.... and Swing by Eddie's for a beer (is that place still there?).
Yes, Eddies is still kicking. I haven't been in a few years but I think they changed the area where the pool table was.
I grew up in Reading. My dad lives in Dayton now. When I go up to see him I have to stop by the one in Reading, and that one only, and get him a half dozen hoagies. They actually have their own website. It's . biz, instead of .com.

http://www.angilospizza.biz/
Damn I didn't know they had their own website. This is making me hungry again for a freakin' pizza bread!
Don't have time though today. Leaving work early and going camping for the weekend!!!!
I am going to get sooo drunk.
Anyway...what is this Marions? I have never heard of it? Is it in the Cincinnati area??

Marion's is in Dayton. The one we always went to was right around the Dayton Mall. Thin crust, with a ton of toppings.

I cannot wait to get home and have one
Sorry guys! You have no idea what pizza is supposed to taste like, unless you live in the NJ, NYC area, your pizza tastes like cardboard. I have been to several states and no one can compare to pizza or italian food around here. You can take your chain stores and ditch em' the best places are the italian restaurants owned by italian families around here. Talk about pizza! The sauce is real too, it doesn't have the consistency of ketchup, or the color....you should check out a place around here one day. Trust me, you have not had pizza at its finest until you do!
She's right, guys. Let's kill this thread. We have no right to talk about what pizza we think tastes good, since she's assuming that we've never been to New York or have ever had good pizza. Condescend much?

I agree with you about the chains, but believe it or not, there are actual Italians here in the sticks that have restraunts. Sure, there's not nearly as many here as in your area, but Italian families have fine traditional recipes no matter where they live. But there's obviously tons more in your area. Flying Pizza has been in Dayton for years and years and finally here in Cincinnati. They have been deemed as authentic by transplants from your area. You can't just go to a few restraunts in a few states that call themselves authentic Italian food and judge the rest of the country on that.
Yeah lots of italian places are chains, but as far as I am concerned they stink. Im guessing my problem is being used to the italian around here and then trying stuff elsewhere makes it taste yucky because of the different way it is made.....but maybe not so much pizza, I was thinking that you can't possibly f-that up too bad considering the amount of ingredients haha.
my g/fs family is almost all italian and they all love to cook so ive had a lot of italian meals too. its better from them than from restaurants, but the restaurants do a pretty good job. chinese food at restaurants is nowhere close to real chinese food, but the italian seems a lot closer.

of the 5-6 larosas i ahve been to not a single one had an italian anywhere near it, larosas couldnt be FURTHER from italian food. and nothing but mexicans in the kitchen, hundreds of them,

Buca is likely the closest chain to real italian food around here, rest are mom n pop shops..
