b]THE SERIES
Jaguars lead, 11-5, 4-4 in Cincinnati.

NOTEWORTHY
The Bengals have lost four straight to the Jags, one against Jack Del Rio in 2005 and three against Tom Coughlin in 2001 and 2002 ... Cincinnati's last win over the Jags came with Dick LeBeau as head coach, Scott Mitchell as QB and rookie WR Peter Warrick doing his best Bobby Orr imitation skating through the frozen Paul Brown Stadium grass on a punt return for an 82-yard TD in a 17-14 win on Dec. 17, 2000 ... LS Brad St. Louis is the only Bengal left that played in that game, the coldest in PBS history at nine degrees with a minus-20 wind chill ... Jags RB Fred Taylor also played that day and workhorsed 110 yards and a touchdown on 32 carries ... It is one of Taylor's four 100-yard games against the Bengals in three venues. He also had a 100-yard day against them at Riverfont Stadium on Halloween '99 when he averaged 8.5 yards per 15 carries ... With nine catches, Bengals WR Chad Ocho Cinco hits 600 for his career. Sunday is his 117th game. Cousin Keyshawn Johnson hit 600 in 118 games ... Bengals WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh is two catches shy of the NFL lead with 54 and is on pace for his third straight 1,000-yard season. Only Ocho Cinco and Carl Pickens have done that in Bengals history.

NFL RANKINGS
CIN: 32nd in scoring; 32nd in offense (30th rushing, 31st passing), 22nd in defense (28th rushing, eighth passing), tied for 28th in turnover margin at minus-six; JAC: 25th in scoring, 20th in offense (14th rushing, 20th passing), 23rd in defense (17th in rushing, 22nd passing), tied for 14th in turnover margin at plus-one.

COACHES
CIN: Marvin Lewis 42-46 regular season, 0-1 postseason in his sixth season, 0-1 vs. Jaguars, 0-1 vs. Del Rio; JAC: Jack Del Rio 49-41 in his sixth season; 1-0 vs. Bengals, 1-0 vs. Lewis.

THE WEATHER
The National Weather Service in Wilmington, Ohio is calling for partly cloudy skies clearing to sunny during the afternoon in Cincinnati with the kickoff temperature at 64 and rising to the high 60s by the end of the game. Light winds are projected out of the south at five to 10 miles per hour with no chance of rain after a front moves out Saturday night.

LAST TIME THEY MET...

October 9, 2005 - As one of the last two unbeatens in the NFL, the Bengals came out looking to make a statement under ESPN's national TV lights Sunday night and looked at times like they were caught in the headlights in losing 23-20 to the Jaguars. But they went grimly and hard and not until the end. Quarterback Carson Palmer brought the Bengals to within a field goal with five and a half minutes left on two zip jobs to rookie wide receiver Chris Henry for 74 yards, the last one a 25-yard touchdown pass. But when the Bengals got the ball back with 2:42 left, they couldn't finish off the two-minute drill. "We're not supposed to be 4-1; we're supposed to win these games," said wide receiver Chad Johnson, who choked back tears after catching just five balls for 52 yards against a game-long double team. "We can't be satisfied with this. We're not the old Bengals."
Chad active
By GEOFF HOBSON
November 2, 2008

Bengals wide receiver Chad Ocho Cinco is up for his 112th straight game Sunday. He was in the starting lineup after being limited in practice with a foot ailment Friday.

Also active for the Bengals were two safeties they took off the street this week in John Busing and Chris Crocker. With Dexter Jackson (hamstring) placed on season-ending injured reserve Thursday, Chinedum Ndukwe moved over from free safety into his spot at strong and Marvin White came off the bench again to play free.

Bengals inactive players
Posted by MarkCurnutte at 11/2/2008 11:37 AM EST on Cincinnati.com

No real surprises or moves of significance (can an 0-8 team be significant?) with the Bengals inactives this morning for the game today against Jacksonville.

Any way, they are: cornerback Geoff Pope, offensive lineman Andrew Crummey, tight end Nate Lawrie, wide receivers Andre Caldwell (foot) and Jerome Simpson (ankle) and defensive linemen Orien Harris and Jason Shirley.

Starting lineup changes from the printed flipcard: Ryan Fitzpatrick will start at quarterback for Carson Palmer (right elbow), who is the emergency third quarterback; and Marvin White will start at free safety for Dexter Jackson at free safety -- Jackson went on the injured reserve list Thursday with a hamstring injury.

Newcomer Chris Crocker, a safety, will wear No. 42. He took Jackson's roster spot.

Why cant we get Big Shirley in for once and deactivate Thorton. How much worse can it get and Shirley would have come far along from where he is at TC <_<
Another question is why Pat Sims sits the bench until halfway through the second quarter most games. Even though a rookie with very little experience he is clearly better than JT.
So it looks like Henderson is playing. I guess we will see if he is such a terror chick makes him out to be..
He dressed last week, I remember seeing him on special teams. and a couple of snaps at linebacker. I don't know if he's good or bad but he does give good effort

Best case scenerio for the team.

Fitz gets hurt, Jordan Palmer comes in and plays terribly. We are down by 21 mid way through the third and Jordan gets high-lowed by two DEs (who came in un-touched surprisingly enough) and has to be taken out.

Carson comes in, sore elbow and all, and rallies us for the victory with a last second TD pass!

That would be nice...probably even if it meant he aggrivated his injury and had to be IR'd afterwards.
