10-4-2 is what we project to.

 

Up-to-the-moment AFC playoff picture:

 

#1 = DEN (6-1, West Champs)

#2 = NEP (6-2, East Champs)

#3 = CIN (5-2-1, North Champs)

#4 = IND (5-3, South Champs)

 

There are 6 teams tied at 5-3 for two wildcards.  We break ties within the divisions first:

 

AFC East (BUF vs MIA, both 5-3)

BUF is 1-0 hth vs MIA

BUF finishes 2nd

MIA finishes 3rd and can only qualify as #6 seed if BUF is #5 seed

 

AFC North (BAL vs CLE vs PIT, all 5-3)

BAL swept CLE/PIT hth 2-0 - BAL finishes 2nd

CLE/PIT split hth 1-1

CLE/PIT are both 1-2 in division

PIT is 5-3 vs common opponents (CLE is 4-3 plus 1-0 vs OAK)

PIT finishes 3rd and can only qualify as #6 seed if BAL is #5 seed

CLE finishes 4th and is eliminated from playoffs

 

For First Wildcard: BUF vs BAL vs KCC (all 5-3)

KCC/BUF/BAL have not played

KCC has better conference record (4-2), than BUF/BAL (2-3)

KCC is the #5 seed, MIA and PIT are eliminated from playoffs

 

For Second Wildcard: BUF vs BAL

BUF/BAL have not played

BUF/BAL are both 2-3 in AFC

BUF/BAL have not played 4 common opponents

BUF has superior Strength of Victory (19-23-0, 0.452) than BAL (16-24-1, 0.402)

BUF is the #6 seed, BAL are eliminated from playoffs

 

Current playoff pairings:

Buffalo at Cincinnati

Kansas City at Indianapolis

 

CIN (or KCC/IND winner) at New England

BUF (or KCC/IND winner) at Denver

The NFC is really easy.

 

All 4 of the divisions have a clear leader

There are only two non-division leaders with 5-3 or better records, and they have DIFFERENT records

 

#1: ARI (7-1, West)

#2: DET (6-2, North) (5-1 vs NFC)

#3: PHI (6-2, East) (3-2 vs NFC)

#4: NOS (4-4, South)

#5: DAL (6-3)

#6: GBP (5-3)

 

Green Bay at Philadelphia

Dallas at New Orleans

 

PHI or DAL/NOS winner at Detroit

GBP or DAL/NOS winner at Arizona
