FulcherVulcher33
Any reason to be optimistic about Jamon Meredith? probably not, this is like the 8th team he's been on
CincyInDC
That's too bad since we have two tackles on the practice squad that we should presumably be even less optimistic about.
|schotzee|
probably not, this is like the 8th team he's been on Hopefully there must be something said of him if he keeps getting chances. Maybe 8th time is the charm. :)
|Tigers Johnson|
Well luckily we are done with Watt for the season
|Lucid|
And that's the thing. Going forward the offense is going to have to plan on help for Newhouse, meaning one less player being able to potentially gain yards as a receiver. OTOH, Dalton is not super slow. Perhaps they can start working some more rollouts into the game plan just to get him out of harm's way and more towards Whit's side to buy time. We were keeping 8 in to block a lot after Andre went down.
bubba
@pauldehnerjr: As I mentioned earlier, Smith move leaves Marshall Newhouse as likely RT, but team could explore moving Boling to RT and play Pollak at LG.
Le Tigre
And, again, where is Hawkinson? "Cincinnati offensive line coach Paul Alexander compares fifth-round draft pick Tanner Hawkinson, a guard-center from Kansas, to former Bengals and Browns standout Eric Steinbach, a nine-year NFL player. “He has exceptionally quick feet, like Steinbach really,” Alexander said of Hawkinson. “He has Steinbach’s feet, which was really impressive. He’s not Steinbach, but he’s an impressive kid, he really is.”
sparky151
I was pleasantly suprised by Newhouse's performance vs Houston. But I haven't forgotten his game vs Cleveland. I'd rather trust Boling at RT than Newhouse.
Inigo Montoya
And, again, where is Hawkinson? He’s not Steinbach, but he’s an impressive kid, he really is.” I asked it earlier in the thread and apparently no one knows. The fact that they might move Boling to RT before trying Hawkinson is telling. Jamon Meredith is the definition of a journeyman. We are his 3rd team this year and he also played for three teams in 2010. He somehow managed to start 20 games for Tampa in 2012 and 2013. There aren't any good options remaining if another OT goes down.

Le Tigre
Yeah, I guess. He wasn't all that coming out of school either: http://www.nfl.com/draft/2013/profiles/tanner-hawkinson?id=2539956
