ThurmanMunster Posted January 31, 2015 Report Posted January 31, 2015 Mesoraco was definitely consistent. I think Frazier had his career year and will never top or reach that again. I don't want to see him get a long term deal yet. See what he does this year.
T-Dub Posted January 31, 2015 Report Posted January 31, 2015 Was Mes solid in 2013? I thought he missed a bunch of time that season.
BengalRep85-9 Posted February 14, 2015 Report Posted February 14, 2015 Signed Chapman to a 1 year $8M deal to avoid arbitration. Can't see him finishing the year in a Reds uni, unless we're in it at the All Star break. Which I don't see either.

oldschooler Posted February 19, 2015 Report Posted February 19, 2015 Johnny Cueto wants to stay, but it will cost Reds http://www.cincinnati.com/story/redsblog/2015/02/19/reds-johnny-cueto-jokes-that-he-wants-300-million/23680271/
Jason Posted February 19, 2015 Report Posted February 19, 2015 Johnny Cueto wants to stay, but it will cost Reds http://www.cincinnati.com/story/redsblog/2015/02/19/reds-johnny-cueto-jokes-that-he-wants-300-million/23680271/ Johnny will be able to pay off the national debt. I just don't see him being a Red much longer sad to say.
T-Dub Posted February 19, 2015 Report Posted February 19, 2015 Johnny will be able to pay off the national debt. I just don't see him being a Red much longer sad to say. Well at least we'll have Votto and Bailey! :suicide:
BengalRep85-9 Posted February 20, 2015 Report Posted February 20, 2015 I'm envisioning a decent little fire sale sometime this July. Cueto is going to get $200 million MINIMUM. Him and Chapman are no doubt gone by the deadline this year. Let the rebuild begin. Sure wish we didn't have the Votto and Bailey contracts though, those hurt.
T-Dub Posted February 20, 2015 Report Posted February 20, 2015 "Hurt" doesn't even cover it. Unless those 2 suddenly return to form their contracts are absolutely crippling.
|Lucid| Posted February 20, 2015 Report Posted February 20, 2015 I agree about Votto, but with Bailey it's not even about returning to form so much as it is waiting for him to actually develop into what we are paying for. From what I heard GM's, around the league were grumbling when we gave that contract to Bailey because it elevated the pay rate of what was seen as 2nd tier pitching talent. IE we payed a 2nd starter (at best) like an ace and now we might lose our actual bonafide ace because of it. I have to say I was excited when Jocketty first came here.. Less so when the cardinal fans seemed to be happy to see him leave, and now I am starting to see why,
JC Posted February 20, 2015 Author Report Posted February 20, 2015 I am going to cringe so fucking hard if we only end up getting a first round pick due to qualifying offer for him. Sell this dude and get some prospects asap. Wgaf that the all star game is in cincy. It would take a shit load of things to go right for 2015 to actually be a playoff year.

If they are not in the hunt in July that could (should?) happen.
ThurmanMunster Posted February 21, 2015 Report Posted February 21, 2015 They should trade them NOW while their values will be higher than in July. This team has no shot of being relevant this year their roster is shit. Only homers view this year as competitive.

If Frazier and Devin build off last year and Joey and Jay bounce back they can be competitive.
BengalRep85-9 Posted February 22, 2015 Report Posted February 22, 2015 Votto showed up to camp and promptly proclaimed himself to still not be healthy. It's laughable at this point. It really is.
