a 4th is wild low, but im always against giving up draft assets AND having to pay a guy, he makes 70 million over the next 2 years, a 4th is low low assets, but paying a 31(currently), 32(2025), and 33(2026) year old 70 million, probably isnt an amazing idea... but they are already all in on overpaying ancient players, so may as well double down.

 

i think most of the NFL felt the same, paying $35mil  ayear to a often disgruntled palyer who sits out and pouts, and is on the age decline, not as attractive as one would think.

It's a part year rental. Nobody, including the Jets, is going to honor his current contract for 2025 and 26. 

 

Also he was traded for a 3rd round pick that could become a 2nd if he makes all-pro or is active for the AFCCG or Super Bowl.

looks like around 8mil and 6 mil dead cap if cut after this season then after next,
