My thoughts

1-I'd re-sign Hill

2-Cut Rankins

3-As others have said Jenkins and Jackson look promising but not amazing

4-Tufele is probably back on league minimum

5-Could be a near complete overhaul here with the 2 rookies from last year and no one else.

Re-sign Hill....definitely.

Will his salary demand be too much?

DT

  • Poona Ford-Started all 17 games last year, 3 sacks for the chargers
  • Calais Campbell-He’s 39 but was productive on a 2 M contract last year
  • Milton Williams-Just 26, 5 sacks last year for the Super Bowl Champs
  • Jarran Reed-32 and still productive with 15hurries and 4.5 sacks last year, coached by our DL coach in 2022, If we go after anyone I think it might be him
  • Joseph-Day-He’s bounced around the league a bit after being cut by the Chargers He’s 30 but had 2.6 sacks last year playing all over the line in Tennessee
  • Odighizuwa-Just 27, 23 hurries last year, 4.5 sacks, a bit undersized for what we like at 280, Started all 17 games last year for the Cowboys
  • Mario Edwards-He will maybe be on his eighth team next year and 31 but he’s productive 8hurries and 3 sacks last year, but he too is 280
  • Adam Butler-He’s productive but his PFF scores are bad-10hurries and 5 sacks, PRWR was 10% and a run stop WR at 40%
  • Wharton-Just 27 and with some nice production this year for the chiefs, 11hurries, 6.5sacks, very bad run defender
  • Kinlaw-Good pass rusher who was relatively cheap for the Jets last year
  • TJ Slaton-here is your 330 guy, coached by our new DL coach for 3 years in GB, PFF scores aren’t great, started all 17 games last year and has 36 total in 4 years. His Run stop WR was 46% which was #1 overall by ESPN.
  • Roy Lopez-An A gapper who has been ok in Arizona and Houston
  • John Jenkins-36 years old but had 46 tackles from the DT spot

I'd only keep Hendrickson and the guys on rookie deals from last year's D-line. Let Hill, Ossai, and Tufele go elsewhere. Cut Rankins and Hubbard and start fresh.

Sign at least 1 10 mil+ guy for the D-line plus some solid vet depth. I'd sign at least 3 or 4 free agent D-linemen and want to upgrade our depth from Tufele level.

im not sure if Hill fits Goldens wants on DL or not.. time will tell, i like hill, but he is an avearage rotation guy, and with two solid young rotation guys hill may not be worth keeping. hell his job may depending whats in the draft. this is one of those DT deep as fuck drafts where you can score top tallent in rounds 2-3. so depending how other dominos fall, a pick may be a much better option than hill.

unless he wants pennies to be a depth guy.

They chose to lean heavily on DL rookies last season then got caught out when they had to play before they were ready.  If Hill walks they would be wise to bring in another vet or two.

I'll keep saying it - good teams don't count on rookies.

Did not the Eagles have 2 starters in thier defensive backfield this past season?

And I dont think we intended to start rookies on DL, we just had injuries and Rankins was useless. I think the intention was to rotate them in as the season progressed.

Pats have given Davon Godchaux the ability to seek a trade. Looks like he'd be about 8M for a year

Pass. Let's aim a little higher. It doesn't have to be Milton Williams or Osa Odighizuwa but at least to the Jarren Reed/Poona Ford/Teair Tart level.
