  1. I really don't know what trade partner for Williams you think you are going to find, or why you think cutting Mixon is a legitimate option at this point. This has kind of become a theme with you, and I really question the legitimacy of the argument at this point in the season. Williams had his best year in his 4th year, so of course they were going to give him the 5th year option. Unfortunately, it turned out that his 5th year was pretty bad and we were able to upgrade by getting OBJ. But that left them 12 mil on the hook for Williams, that's nobody's fault because the previous year he played well enough to earn the extension. Let's just be thankful that 12 million is only for one year and we didn't extend him into a new contract, because that could have been so much worse. The argument that we should trade him .....with who? ... The Jags were the only team that reported interest and I'm going to say this again, none of us know what their offer was for.....but it wasn't enough to entice the Bengals. That isn't likely to change now. MAYBE someone gets hurt and they find trading partner to take the 12 million off our hands.....but I kind of doubt it. But the 12 million will be off the books by the time the season is over and will allow us from the time the season is over until the start of FA to use that money on other players. You also made the argument that we should have traded him before the draft. Again ....with who? His trade value was even lower before the draft because teams we going to sit and wait to see if they could get a tackle in the draft. I really do not understand the logic in the trade him before the draft thinking. It makes no sense to me at all. Now to Mixon.... It was thought that had one of the RBs dropped to 28 they may have take one, that did not happen. In fact the RBs for the value they had them we just not there until Brown in the 5th. And the Derick Henry stuff was never serious, anyone who thought the Titans were going to trade away their best player ....come on... Which leaves Mixon as RB1 because they are not going to start a 5th round rookie RB on a team that is competing for a Super Bowl. Let this talk die.

  2. “less running and more throwing.” = "more incompletions and interceptions"

  3. You could argue the same for LB with the current staff considering they drafted both Pratt & Wilson and neither were 1st rounders. This isn't Marv's staff hanging on to the Caleb Miller's of the world anymore.

  4. They've had an almost continuous run of good WR's since at least Chad & TJ. How many good LBs have they had in that timeframe? Maybe 2?

  5. I like having the three broadcast time slots on Sunday, and MNF would be fine if they could somehow get Frank Gifford, Howard Cosell, and Don Meredith back into the booth, or even Al Michaels, and maybe move it back to ABC. In its current state, though, it's of interest only if there is a good matchup. But Thursday Night games could go away and I wouldn't miss them. I'm sure many would disagree, but I think that's where the league crosses the oversaturation point. And Amazon is going to have to fix their audio. There was a Bengals home game last year that sounded on TV like it was being played in an empty studio, while people who were at the game said it was LOUD. I hated that the national audience didn't get an accurate portrayal of what a Paycor crowd is like.

  6. The stealers get to host BOTH of their Thursday Night games. They are also the home team for both preceding games…while a majority of teams hosting a Thursday Night game are on the road the previous Sunday. [FYI, all except one of the visiting Thursday Night teams play at home the Sunday prior. The only one not at home is the NY Giants. They are at Arizona on Sunday, 9/17, and then at San Francisco on Thursday, 9/21. I imagine that they will just stay on the West coast, so it saves them an extra coast-to-coast flight…so that’s probably why that happened.]

  7. Our STM account includes 4 households. One of them voting clearly on popular names they recognize which skewed our polling results. But after tallying the inputs, we voted for Timmy and Norman. My ballot was Krumrie Parrish Trumpy (1-2-3)

  8. Broncos will be okay. They have a second kicker named Brandon McManus they can use.

  9. The season opener for the SB champs will draw a big audience almost regardless of the opponent. The Chiefs schedule certainly has bigger and better teams that could’ve been picked but my guess is the NFL wants to save those for later. The Lions actually make sense because they’re being hyped heading into the season and there’s no guarantee they will actually be that good. Putting them in the season opener means they won’t be 2-4 going into the game. Plus, I don’t think they want to give the Chiefs an opponent like the Bengals, Bills, or Eagles who might actually beat them.

  10. That being said I would vote for Dillon and that's it. He was every bit as good as Bettis, just played for a crappier team, with a crappier OL, and didn't get to face the Bengals defense twice a year. The fact that people actually think Boomer is worthy shows the ignorance of this fanbase. One way to look at it is that the Ring should obviously honor Pro Football HOF members and then people who came close or those that had special contribution to the team's history. Dillon was close to the HOF. Boomer was never.

  12. Hell yes we are. We also have NINE home games this year instead of 7 home, 9 on the road like we had last year (because of the Hamlin incident) . We either go 13-4 or 14-3 this year. We get the #1 seed, and we win the Super Bowl. We do have to go west though.. Two games.. Phoenix, and SF both on west coast. Last year I think the furthest west we went was Dallas.
