Linebackers still out

The Bengals are back to work this morning inside Paul Brown Stadium, practicing on the game field for the game Sunday against the Steelers.

Not practicing: linebackers Ahmad Brooks (groin) and Caleb Miller (back), tailback Rudi Johnson (hamstring) and right tackle Willie Anderson (knee).

Did not see safety Dexter Jackson, who injured a hip Sunday against the Jets.

Wide receiver Chris Henry, who has two games remaining on the eight-game NFL suspension (then he must apply for reinstatement) is on the field practicing.

Tailback Chris Perry remains on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list. He was on the sideline and wearing pads and his helmet -- and working with strength and conditioning coach Chip Morton.
Updated: 3:10 p.m.
Pro Bowl right tackle Willie Anderson has been ruled out of Sunday's game against Pittsburgh with his knee and foot problems just days after he played nearly the entire way in a 38-31 win over the Jets that followed his first absence in 116 games....

Bengals wide receiver Chris Henry has been cleared by the NFL to begin practicing with the team, and he was on the Paul Brown Stadium field Wednesday as the Bengals got practice underway. Henry is still on league suspension, but remains on schedule to return to the team for Cincinnati's Week 10 game at Baltimore on Nov. 11.

Henry wasted no time joining the Bengals' list of the injured in dislocating a ring finger.

Earlier this year, Henry was suspended by the league for Games 1-8 of this season, due to violations of NFL policies. The suspension is to end after the Nov. 4 Buffalo game.

Also Wednesday, running back Rudi Johnson, linebackers Ahmad Brooks and Caleb Miller, and safety Dexter Jackson were not dressed for practice. Running back Chris Perry was in shoulder pads working on the side. It appears as if Perry is still not ready to practice full-time, but head coach Marvin Lewis said he'll start practicing next week.

One of the marquee matchups of Bengals-Steelers week has been eliminated. Steelers defensive end Aaron Smith is expected to miss Sunday's game, as his long-tme rival

Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger can't figure out why the Steelers have won their last six at Paul Brown Stadium.

"Cincinnati is one of the rowdiest and loudest places we have to go," he told the Cincinnati media via conference call. "It's not easy. Those fans love it when we come down there. They love to get all over us."

Roethlisberger on his accuracy contests with former Bengals quarterback Ken Anderson, his new quarterbacks coach: "He got beat in training camp. I don't think he wants to play any more. He still throws a real pretty ball, but he's just old, so I give him a hard time."
man I hope this is smoke and mirrors and they aren't on friday's report. Ahmad at least.
I dont think he's (Brooks) going to play against the Steelers...
Get used to Schlegal playing on running downs.

IF Jeanty can play defense then he, Jones and Johnson seem to be the logical choices to play most of the snaps unless the Bengals fall behind... Then Schlegal will have to help stop Fast Willie...
How imperative is it that the Bengals get an early lead??? wow

LDE Aaron Smith is out with a sprained MLC in his left knee to nuetralize the loss of Willie..
Looks like the right side of the line will pit Koos against Nick Eason.. tossup imo....
whitworth at LG.

Kooistra will be first off the bench at LG and RT.
That is what I was thinking too! (prolly just an oversight by UK :P ) It would go Levi-Whit-Ghiaciuc-Bobbie-Stacy with Kooistra coming off the bench. I thought Whit had a damn good game on Sunday after rewatching the game. He was awesome all game and on two pulls that led to touchdowns for Watson.
