Her appearance drew scorn and laughter from the audience and judges until she started singing. Then everyone shut up and listened. That's why I cried for her. Her admission that she'd "never been kissed" and that she lived alone with a cat, and now this...coupled with the choice of song she sang...fucking reinforces my belief in humanity's ability to overcome the superficial and tap into the beauty.
