You Think Mike Brown Is Bad? Would You Rather Have This Guy?

Jeez, Dan Snyder never ceases to amaze me. What a tool.

Snyder's lawyers are seeking the dismissal of Dave McKenna, a writer for the Washington City Paper, who authored a lengthy piece on Snyder's countless debacles since taking over the Redskins in 1999. A lawsuit against City Paper's owners for defamation is being considered but has not been filed.

The City Paper published McKenna's "Cranky Redskins Fans Guide to Dan Snyder" in November. It was an encyclopedic A-Z look at Snyder's "many failings" and featured a picture of him with penciled on devil horns and goatee. McKenna chronicled most of Snyder's missteps, most of which already were on the public record. This piece wasn't reporting as much as it was collecting.

It's not the writer who coined the phrase "Dan-Jazeera" to refer to a Snyder-owned radio station or called Snyder the "sports jerk of the year" or paid excessive money to Jeff George, Jim Zorn, Deion Sanders andDonovan McNabb(notes). Why is McKenna the target for rehashing past incidents? If Snyder really wants to get channel his frustration, he should try standing in front of a mirror. A majority of the entries in the anti-Snyder encyclopedia are directly about decisions the owner himself has made (like the time he cut down trees on his estate to get a better view of the Potomac River.) The others are reactions to said decisions. (The "Dumb and Dumber" entry, for instance, which was a nickname given to Snyder and his right-hand man, Vinny Cerrato.)

Are you joking? I would rather have Dan Snyder own the bengals over Mike Brown in a heartbeat
Not joking at all. Both are utterly incompetent, but at least Mike Brown is polite and cares about people. Snyder is a crass and classless douchebag new-money type who's ego and greed know no boundaries.

And I'd rather have a conservative owner than one that throws money all willy-nilly in a futile attempt to placate his own ego rather than benefit the team he owns in any meaningful way.

'eh their success levels aren't much different.

Since Snyder took over the redskins are 86-106 with 3 playoff appearances (all wild card) and one playoff win. In the same time the Bengals are 76-115-1 with 2 division championships and 0 playoff wins.

So snyder, spending gobs of money every year as owner, has gotten himself 1 playoff win and an less than 1 more win per season than Mike Brown has, who has spent much less money.

Both stink as owners, but Brown has had basically the same success while spending much less.

LOL It's not your money he's spending. If Dan Snyder wants to spend $100 MM of mostly his own money to sign Haynesworth, than good for him.

Snyder is an annoying prick, but he's considerably better than Mike Brown. Brown is a stingy owner who creates extremely personal bonds with his employees. He also hasn't won a playoff game in 20 years. Snyder, though annoying and clueless, at least isn't cheap and is willing to throw some dough around.

lol I don't care who's money he spends. Don't try and change the subject.

They've both sucked about exqually over the last 12 years, despite one trying to spend as much money he can get away with.

Snyder's proof positive that if you suck at running a football team, you suck at running a football team, no matter how much money you try and throw at it.

Its not all Snyder's money either.

Snyder may suck but he makes moves to make his team better. It may not work out but shit at least hes trying. Mike Brown doesnt even try.
Snyder's moves are mostly ridiculous, and Mike Brown has gotten better at FA over time. Neither of them is a successful owner though.

Bung, you do realize that if you compared Mikey and Satan some of these guys would take Satan and say "well he does live in a warmer climate!"

I'd take snyder. If you want a better comparison, maybe we should compare both their first 12 years as owners.

Oh, and they are in a more competitive division. The AFCN has had the browns who've been bad almost every year. the NFCE has had good Eagles, Giants and cowboys team over the last decade.

Could you imagine the joy if last year MB brought in Shanahan as the HC?

You guys that would take Snyder, do you realize he tried to charge people for walking on the sidewalks to the stadium?
He sounds like the type of guy that would charge $3 for warm tap water as well. Oh.. wait a minute...(In Mike's defense I doubt he had any idea that was happening)

Snyder is douche bag. Screw that. Snyder is younger too so he would be around a lot longer than Mikey will be. Gotta look to the future.
and he's not likely to sell. He grew up a Redskins fan and the day snyder bought the team was one of the proudest days of his dad's life (who I think is now deceased).

Snyder is an egomaniac but he's more likely to win a superbowl than Mike Brown is. The reason is that Snyder wants to win and is willing to try anything and everything to succeed. That approach is more likely to get lucky than the Bengals approach of "going to war with what we have".

Are you nuts? I don't want that clown anywhere near my team!

Shanahan can be added to Snyder's failure list.
