They will add some new feature that is supposed to be groundbreaking and update the rosters and rob you of $65 dollars and tons of people will buy it..still. [/quote] yea I read something a few weeks ago about it still coming out, but the NFL was charging EA sports less (for some reason) in the event of a work stoppage. EA needed it; Madden sales have been going down for years due to producing such a garbage product. Shittily for gamers, they also extended the exclusive license one more year. This has been the worst console ever for football gaming. Shrewd business deal by EA though. Hopefully 2K just makes a generic game someday and go the Pro Evolution route. Everyone I know likes Madden, kinda surprised by the reviews on here. I know online play constantly updates the rosters, im not sure if it still does that with the old game or not? I played an OD last season where I got stock with a bottom dweller so I decided to use the GT playbook for three seasons...just when everyone started figure out how to stop it I switched up to a spread offense. Building up a crap team into a conference powerhouse is fun. Sneaking in and stealing that 4 star recruit from a big school at the last minute is just as bad ass of a moment as winning your first conference championship and getting your first BCS bid while the powerhouse schools are playing in shit bowls. [/quote] You're right! Landing those receruits are a game within itself. We had up to 8 in our dynasty but cut it back because guys were taking too long. Now we have 6 and we're advancing every day, sometimes twice. I'm Iowa. Why? Because the guy who wouldn't play me until year 4 on our other dynasty (it's since been deleted) chose Wisconsin. I entered as the next best team that I could be (we don't allow 5-6 star teams) so I could kick his ass every year. We're in year 4 now and I'm 3-1 against him - three Big 10 Championships and three Rose Bowl Championships. It's amazing. He's ranked #1 and I am #2 as of last night. There's going to be an awesome matchup 5 games from now. Winner is probably going to the National Title game as long as we keep beating the computer. Heisman gets tough sometimes... I lost to Illinois last year and usually drop a Big Ten game every year to a team I should trounce. I have Indiana tonight... I hate playing against their offense. [/quote] You're a Madden guy? I swore up and down I would never go to NCAA over Madden for years... just like I use to do when I was a PS guy and went to Xbox. I made the switch and I'm never going back. The gameplay for the two is very similar. I actually think NCAA is a little easier for some reason. My love for the Bengals was trumped by the recruiting aspect of the new NCAA. The new style is much more challenging than the older NCAAs. Instead of just playing a game every week (in Madden) and doing that stupid "scouting" they have, you actually have to look through a list of over 1000 guys and bring in the type of guys that fit your offense or defense. For instance, if there's a bad ass recruit that plays FS and he is horrible in zone coverage, I couldn't bring him in because 99% of the time my safety is in a zone. I can find a 3 star FS that is maybe a B in zone coverage... he would much better fit my style of play and it really shows. I use to run 4 CBs almost every play until I found an OLB that was a decent grade in coverage. Now I run nickel a lot instead of dime. Since that OLB was also a decent grade in tackling (a C I think), it's really helped me against the run this year. I would say, yes, it is worth picking up. I doubt much will change from this NCAA to the next because this one is so different than the prior, so it'll really give you time to see if you enjoy it better than Madden. Offline play is a thing of the past. If you're not hooked up to the internet, you need to be. Offline can only take you so far, but nothing is better than fighting over a damn good high school recruit with your buddies and then use him against him for the next 4 years. I have a huge night tonight. Tons of recruits coming in for my game... if I win, I'm probably golden. The only one they had though was the 2009 all play version, and it had crappier graphics than my NCAA 2003. IMO the NCAA games kick the crap out of Madden.
