A guy I wouldn't mind is Martin Bayless. He's was a pretty good player as a Safety and has been a pretty good coach. I could see him as either the DB or Asst DB coach.

I don't think the game is televised, but he's coaching one of the teams in the All-Star Classic (the blacksheep of the draft prospect games) today.
Bayless, last season, was the Sacramento Mountain Lions defensive coordinator and special team’s coordinator in the UFL. He has also coached with the Minnesota Vikings, Houston Texans, Carolina Panthers and Oakland Raiders in the NFL.
Strategy And Personnel

The Bengals should have a new secondary coach named by the time they go to the Scouting Combine in two weeks. As for talks with Lewis regarding a contract extension, those things are on hold at the moment.
Talks also have not started yet between the team and safety Reggie Nelson and kicker Mike Nugent, who are their top two priorities to re-sign.

MEDICAL WATCH

--CB Leon Hall has started working on an exercise bike and is ahead in his rehab from an Achilles injury.
--S Chris Crocker had a cleanup procedure on his knee but should be ready in time for OTAs.

I saw on NFL Network that Todd Bowles was offered the job but took the same position with the Eagles, make sense considering the talent they have in their secondary compared to ours.

That may be part of it, but it's also a higher-profile position, and the team could be very good... which could help his exposure. Or, it could be bad again, and he might be in line to replace the DC there, or even be a HC candidate if Andy Reid is on a short leash.

FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. -- The Atlanta Falcons have made another change on their coaching staff, firing defensive backs assistant Alvin Reynolds.

The announcement Monday continues the shakeup that began after the Falcons were blown out by the New York Giants in the opening round of the playoffs.

Reynolds had been with the team since head coach Mike Smith was hired in 2008.

The Falcons lost Smith's top two assistants when offensive coordinator Mike Mularkey took the head coaching job at Jacksonville and defensive coordinator Brian VanGorder moved to the same post at Auburn. Dirk Koetter has taken over the offense, while Mike Nolan was hired to run the defense.

In addition to Reynolds, offensive line coach Paul Boudreau also was let go and quarterback coach Bob Bratkowski became Mularkey's offensive coordinator at Jacksonville.

Or the fact that Philly can afford to pay him twice as much

Any other mention of a new defensive backs coach yet ? It would be nice to have Woodson but I believe it would be nice to have an answer well before the draft comes around in April. Is there an indicator when the decision will take place ?

word is prior to the combine. the coaching staff was on vacation this week.

That would certainly be ok if it was the way it works. February 22 is part of my football fix before the season actually starts.

Thank You.

Not Woodson.
Bengals hire Mark Carrier as defensive backs coach and promote Paul Guenther to linebackers coach. Carrier spent last two seasons with Jets as DL coach and previous four years as Ravens DB coach. In 2011, Guenther was an assistant in a dual role, working with special teams and defensive backs.
Ex Bears Safety? Or Ex Jets WR? Or none of the above?

We still need someone to repalce Guenther. No reason that can't be Woodson.
