Verdict is still out on Michael Johnson. I hope he builds on this, but the starting LT went down and he was up against a guy who's NEVER played LT...

Nah. He got a cheap sack on Joe Thomas with his foot. He also forced a holding call on Joe. He also missed a sack going for fumble vs. destroying the Weeden.

The Verdict is made. MJ can rush the passer. This was clearly evident when the Browns started putting a RB to chip for JOE THOMAS. If Whitworth got beat like that there would be million threads saying he should be a left guard.

The Good...

Dunlap - Some say one player can't fix everything that's wrong with this defense. I say, close enough. Dunlap is the best defensive player the Bengals have, bar none, and his mere presence seems to transform this defense.

MJ - For the longest time he seemed to come tantalizingly close on play after play, but never actually made many. Now he's producing regardless of the quality of blocker faced. For the first time since he was drafted I can say I'm impressed without any hesitation.

Gilberry, Atkins, et all - Sacks and hits on RGIII all game long, several of the crushing variety. Best, not one of them came close to being cheap.

Sanu/Wildcat - Getting burned deep on the first play of the game is something that feels like our birthright. (Flacco/Hall) It's nice to see the Bengals can pull the same tricks on the other guy.

Hawkins - The NFL seems to be waking up to the idea that there's nothing fluky about this guys production. Best, the slot spot has been transformed into a primary weapon of aggression/attack rather than the more passive/checkdown role of Brat/Shipley.

Binns - I'm still not sold 100%, but I was impressed by the performance coming one game after being blown up.

Gresham - I'll call this one half good based upon the Bengals newly found willingness to move Gresham around and take advantage of the mismatches created when lining up wide, or even more often, from the backfield.

Dalton - The pick six was a bad decision and an even worse throw, but overall Dalton has been outstanding. Best, he's no longer being propped up by a gameplan designed to limit his mistakes or scaled back due to his inexperience....thereby negating the need to grade on a curve.

The Bad

The fake FGA - I didn't mind the playcall itself, but the execution was horrible. Simply put, who runs a fake behind multiple blockers who don't actually block anyone? Gresham whiffed. Peko whiffed. What the fuck?

Rey - Maybe he does spend too much time thinking instead of reacting? I can't say what's going on inside his mellon. All I know for certain is he looks fat and slow.

The Ugly

Greshams blocking - Some claim Gresham is an elite blocker. Others limit their praise to saying he's good. I say it's horrific, and this game was yet another example of why the announcement naming Gresham to the Pro Bowl should have been accompanied by a laugh track.

Agree on the fake FG. Sneak somebody else in to hold, Sanu again?, nobody expected a fake so they wouldn't notice the holder. But you're right that the blocking was awful anyway so it might not matter who was running the ball.

Haven't watched the replay but it sounds like had peko made his block it would have been a TD and everyone else did their job.

Having sanu hold would have made it obvious, though I do like the suggestion someone else made of maybe making sanu a regular holder, but that might be tough as he's not always active.

Sanu was a cheeky example since he already had a big gadget play, I agree on the Peko block because if I remember correctly, Huber only had one guy to beat. if Leonard took the snap instead of Huber, he could've jumped over him.

Yes, I'm thread bumping, but I don't care.

The real reason why y'all beat us back in September, this woman hadn't come up with this idea yet, and now that she has, the Skins have a shot at the playoffs:
