FulcherVulcher33
I have a lot of browns fans that are friends and they all had nothing bad to say about him
BigDawgBengal
Not really a shock. Needed a back up QB and has a connection to Gruden.
HaydenM
I like him. It will be nice to have a backup who at least has a chance to come in and make plays if needed. Pretty mobile with a good arm.
sparky151
We should have tried to get a veteran guy with more starting experience. Johnson has never been a fulltime starter and the backup QB doesn't get many practice snaps. Although he helps fill the Johnson quota, five starts in five years isn't many. spicoli
I love having a mobile QB as a back-up, I'm completely cool with this. hopefully now I can put my fear of a 2nd rd QB to rest.

Not anything to get excited about, but why would you want to be excited about a backup QB?
HaydenM
I love having a mobile QB, i'm completely cool with this. hopefully now I can put my fear of a 2nd rd QB to bed. Agreed. Most backup QBs aren't elite passers - that's why they're backups. But I love having an athletic guy who can come in and be a threat to make plays. I remember how Tyrod Taylor came in for the ravens in the last game against us and gave us fits. Josh Johnson ran a 4.44 at the combine when he came out. That's pretty ridiculous. That puts a ton of pressure on the defense and its something we've never really had.
bengals7833
I hope Andy stays healthy. It's hard to get excited about a qb that's been in the league for four years and barely has a 1000 yards passing

HaydenM
He was essentially 4th string for the Browns last year I thought they signed him right at the end of the year due to injuries.
alleycat
I've been a big fan of his since the draft, and think he's a great add. He certainly got huge chunks of yards against us the last time we played, and that's one of the reasons a mobile backup quarterback (like Fitz) can actually win you games... HaydenM
I haven't seen this signing confirmed by any reputable source that I'm familiar with. Hope it's true because I think he's the type of backup we need, but I'll hold off until someone confirms it.
MichaelWeston
We were tied to two guys with like 50+ career starts and then signed the browns fourth string qb
bengals7833
Just read he had one snap last year. Sack with a lost fumble. Hopefully he is the next Jeff Blake
Khatmandude
This move isn't for backup QB....Johnson was signed to be the starter! The coaches realize Dalton's limitations and as a result, have decided to go the way of the 49ers, Seahawks, Redskins...run option offense. They'll use Johnson to suit his talents and he will lead the Bengals to the Super Bowl next year....as long as we acquire an explosive RB. :D

scharm
With all the trouble the Browns have had with QBs it would be hilarious if this was the one guy with promise.
Bengals1181
Not a big fan of his, but it gives you draft flexibility. Won't keep them from drafting a QB, but now they don't have to stress about taking a specific one by a specific round. Don't know that he's any worse than Grad. Just less experienced. EnglishBengal
I'm ok with this. There's a lot of untapped potential in this guy. He's actually got a decent arm and some accuracy. Think poor man's Cam Newton. I trust Gruden and our underrated QB guru Zampese to get something out of him.
