At least two explosions were reported at the finish line of the Boston Marathon Monday. More The blasts happened at about 2:50 p.m. near the intersection of Boylston and Exeter streets. Store fronts have been blown out, and there have been reports of dozens of injuries. Witnesses said several victims lost limbs, the race was stopped and the area is being evacuated. The first explosion happened across from the Lenox Hotel and the second blast was about 15 seconds later, witnesses said. Many of the injured appeared to be spectators who gathered for the 117th running of the race.

April 15, 201312 yr comment_1232435 From what the pictures look like matched up with Google maps, it appears the explosion took place very close to the Consulate General of Portugal in Boston across the street from the Lenox.

April 15, 201312 yr comment_1232449 Two additional bombs found and were currently being dismantled. Looked at that place where these bombs went off. Multiple places to set and hide bombs. Even a city bathroom near the Boston Public Library and Hotel Lenox. Multiple mailboxes, trashcans, etc...
April 15, 201312 yr comment_1232451 @TimWilliamsCBS: #BREAKINGNEWS: AP reporter says Newtown families were in the VIP section right by the explosion. Could be a "High Value" target that would certainly make news for whomever did this. Portugal did nothing that I am aware of. North Korea is having a birthday party today. The guessing will be extreme but for now.... The prayers go out to those in Boston.
April 15, 201312 yr comment_1232454 This reeks of a false flag operation......wonder who the boogeyman will be?!?!
April 15, 201312 yr comment_1232455 If it did go off near the Newtown people, could be a gun nut that set it off wanting to make a point that its just not guns that kill people. If it was a terrorist, I would think they would set it off at the start where they could kill the most people but its more than likely terrorist organizations.
April 15, 201312 yr comment_1232456 This reeks of a false flag operation......wonder who the boogeyman will be?!?! Could be. None of us will ever know for certain. Portugal did recently have a meeting with others regarding terrorism. http://www.middle-east-online.com/english/?id=58024 ALGIERS - Interior ministers from five European and five north African countries agreed in Algiers on Tuesday to a common approach in fighting terrorism, organised crime and illegal migration. The so-called 5+5 group comprises Spain, Portugal, France, Italy, Malta, Morocco, Tunisia, Libya, Algeria and Mauritania. France was represented by its ambassador to Algeria.
April 15, 201312 yr comment_1232457 Don't want to be the asshole here, but those bombs could certainly had been larger. Thank God they were not very powerful, and that at least two of them failed to detonate. Hopefully those injured are capable of recovery. A lot of planning and some sophistication clearly went into this. What is the motivation here? This was designed to be noticed/ make a statement. Edit: It doesn't look foreign. Gonna make the first guess here and go with domestic terrorists.

If it was a terrorist, I would think they would set it off at the start were they could kill the most people but its more than likely a terrorist organization. IF a person can coordinate upwards of FOUR bombs with two successfully going off there was some sophistication going on. It would probably not be uncommon to plant bombs all over with only a couple set to actually go off. Sort of keeps people very busy and very careful for a very long time until an area is given an all clear. Giving the suspects plenty of time to get out of the area, jam up the city streets, cause further confusion, allow for further media coverage, etc...

April 15, 201312 yr comment_1232472 From the National Archives... The fire at the JFK Library building is out. It appears to have started in the mechanical room of new wing of the building. All staff and visitors are accounted for and safe. Fire investigators are investigating. We have no specific information on damage to the mechanical room. Any tie to Boston Marathon explosions is pure speculation. We will provide more information as we receive it.

April 15, 201312 yr comment_1232481 A buddy of mine from Boston was just telling me before we'd heard about this shit that today is a great day in Boston since 2/3rds of the businesses are closed and the Sox play the earliest (as in time of day) game in MLB at like 11:05 AM. You stand in line 15 minutes before the bars open at stupid o'clock, drink, the marathon winners finish, you go to the Sox game, drink, Sox beat the Rays (today), go back to the bars, etc. Too bad some assholes had to ruin it.
