August 8, 20222 yr comment_1675578 Not a single surprise on the very early 1st/2nd team depth chart...maybe for the first time in Bengals history. I like it. Surprises are what you find on the depth chart of bad teams.
August 8, 20222 yr Author comment_1675580 agreed. that's easily the most logical depth chart we've seen this early in a long long time
August 8, 20222 yr comment_1675583 The only surprise might be putting Bates on there when he isn't under contract at the moment.
August 9, 20222 yr comment_1675586 I read weeks ago that Evans will be the 3rd Down back and not Perine. Perine may get the nod should Mixon get hurt, but that Evans will be the 3rd Down back.
August 9, 20222 yr comment_1675588 So, who is our 4th best Receiver among all players, RB's, TE's and WR's? Who would our 4th best WR be?
August 9, 20222 yr comment_1675590 So, we opted not to resign Spain, who is currently a Free Agent, as nobody has signed him, yet.

August 9, 20222 yr comment_1675593 Will Morgan continue to return Kicks? If so, he'll have limited reps at WR, even if one of the Top-3 miss a game.

When you watch the highlights from last year, on most of Burrow's big TD passes the first guy to celebrate with him was usually Spain. Plus they worked out together at Black Sheep Performance in the offseason.
August 9, 20222 yr comment_1675595 Don't like that you have only one WR better than Mixon, who is not a good Receiver. Would like to see us trade for a WR, or pick up a better Veteran who is still available.
August 9, 20222 yr comment_1675596 I can't see Carmen, no matter how much he improves this season, being anywhere near as good as Spain would be playing alongside this O-Line and another year under Pollack.
August 9, 20222 yr comment_1675600 The Bengals have made it very clear that they do not want Spain back. The fact that no one else has signed Spain yet pretty much tells you how the rest of the league views Spain too.

I think he's better than Tupou)

This is the deepest d-line the Bengals have ever had.

Needs to make more than 1 play per game I would think. As someone noted, his name has barely come up in the TC notes so not looking good at this point. I suppose he could go to the PS still unless someone pulled him.
August 9, 20222 yr Author comment_1675630 He made more than one play in that TN game, in fact. He was a key part of that gameplan. He has a role on this team.

I think so too I was just hoping he would overtake Tupou as Reader's backup so I'd feel better if Reader went down. Shelvin has the big body for it, and as mentioned at times has played well, I was just hoping he would do enough to make it less of a problem if Reader goes down.
August 9, 20222 yr Author comment_1675641 I mean, Reader at the level he plays really is borderline irreplaceable.
August 9, 20222 yr comment_1675670 I think the one of the biggest roster battles is Huber and Christman. I think Christman may be better but Huber is going to be difficult to unseat plus he has the holder thing down pat and locked up. Which ever is cut will not be on the waiver wire for long.
