-GoBengals- Posted October 15, 2024 Report Posted October 15, 2024 16 hours ago, HavePityPlease said: I usually ignore these hindsight posts because, as others said, most if not all these gameday thread comments are stream-of-consciousness, real-time reactions to what just happened, not some exhaustive, fine-grained analysis - so rebutting them as such, or as if they're deeply-held beliefs or grand pronouncements, or projecting or inferring something that was never said is, in your words, fucking dumb. Example: Who said he was a community college dropout? It certainly wasn't me. Does it make more sense to infer this absurd notion or instead assume people are simply holding QBs to an NFL standard? Does it make more sense to assume someone is truly giving a final analysis of a QB's career, or simply observing how they're playing in the moment? You set up the strawman anyway to "strengthen" your "argument", so I'll ask you the same question you asked me - "who hurt you?" - because constantly setting up strawmen is incredibly weak, and it says a lot about how your brain is wired. But I'll answer this. Jones was absolute shit yesterday. That has nothing to do with his week-to-week, season-to-season or overall lifetime stats. He sucked shit. He was garbage. Doo-doo. Ka-ka. He missed open receivers several times. He made the wrong read multiple times on RPOs. He panicked and bailed multiple times when he didn't need to. The Bengals defense benefitted greatly from this shit play, so regardless of his QB rating or PFF rating or relative position on the league stat table - he sucked shit. Yesterday. In yesterdays' football game against the Cincinnati Bengals. Hope that helps. i didnt saw anyone said community college dropout, i said ACTING LIKE he is a community college dropout. my posts are now being put through a fox news filter or something? 16 hours ago, KA14_HOF said: Dang, I thought I turned my webcam off. shit i thought that screen was just a mirror. 16 hours ago, IKOTA said: Surely you don’t take him that seriously? It’s some of the funniest, most entertaining stuff this forum has to offer. And as he prefaces it with, he has the benefit of hindsight. I personally think he chose the wrong career path as he could be a very effective Therapist, especially for hypochondriacs. man, i dont think my "well have you tried not being a bitch about it?" 1 on 1 sessions are really gonna gain many repeat clients. 15 hours ago, SF2 said: The last few weeks shows what having two quality defensive line starters out then come back have on your defense. Also shows just how thin O and D line talent is in the NFL. The best defensive linemen are significantly better than average linemen. Now put a second stringer in there and the drop off can be profound. who woulda thought. and not just 2, 2 plus 2 young talented rotation guys behind them, who had been out ALL year until 6-10 days ago give or take. and thats with guys like rankins getting first action in a long time, that group should only get better. wonder if any nfl teams are dumb enough to just look at stats like social media people and fans do? cause on paper we are a trash run defense, and in regulation we held Henry to like 40 yards rushing, he broke off the long one in OT, and Jones was their leading rusher in yards and YPC vs giants. and QB again leading rusher vs patriots with SOME guys healthy on the Dline. So when healthy, the bengals havent been murdered by the run game, but on paper they are worst ever. i assume teams know better, but thats tough data to ignore when game planning. id love a peak into that side of the business, can i get the "stat reality reminder" job and just sit in the game planning rooms, and when someone says something based on stats that arent usefull in reality, i blow a horn or something? 15 hours ago, Cricket said: That’s my take on the hours-later replies to heat-of-the-moment posts. The six likes and one ❤️ reactions to my post would indicate (at least to me) that I’m not the only one that feels that way. Oh, well. No biggie. This is still THE BEST place to get Bengals-related news…and we ALL want the Bengals to win (well, most of us). 🦗 i liked it. 4 hours ago, Dautcom08 said: If Jenkins and Jackson can develop throughout the season not that they've returned from injury in parallel to having the starters back, the back half of the season defense has the potential to look significantly different. I'm optimistic. and if they can get pressure maybe the CB's can stop having to cover for 6 seconds and getting dusted. 1 hour ago, I_C_Deadpeople said: Throw Murphy into that mix as well. always sleep on murphy, he has been the KING of "ALMOST" getting there this year, gets close but never closes the deal. looks like he has 6 hurries on the year in 2 games. really would be ideal if he can develop into a real player. 1 hour ago, IKOTA said: Well, there are at least 7 pansies on the board. We do live in a society where people are just looking to be offended by something or another. So this makes sense. I don’t post here much anymore, joined the board in 2003 when it first started as an offshoot from Thorntons site, but completely agree that every piece of news is posted here by wonderful people (hope they’re not amongst the pansies lol) who take the effort to make this board what it is. Most notably Griever and Arkansas Bengal. im just here for the hot chicks. 1 hour ago, IKOTA said: Weston doesn’t post much news I don’t think / remember but he does create some detailed Excel sheets. thats what i appreciates about him 52 minutes ago, New Jersey Bengal said: He sure does he should work for the bengals those sheets he posts are incredIble i shot the bengals a 14 day free trial for office 365, so they should be covered i think. 25 minutes ago, SF2 said: Go has been abusing me for 15 years on this board. Hey, I got the Red Rifle experience twice. He was the starter in New Orleans an entire year after Winston thru 5 picks in 10 quarters. It went about as well as expected. 6-8 and ole average Andy couldn’t win the bright light games. Like a bad penny. 1 Quote

The game was over with the first down, but people here were fine with the TD instead of the chance to kneel down and keep the D off the field and potentially lose. Giants probably let him score after he got the first down. Luckily nobody got hurt on D on the final drive. Selfish players care more about stats or maybe he didn't realize. Which would fall under poor coaching. 1 Quote

As I mentioned in the other thread, the way he scored immediately reminded me of Ahmad Bradshaw's TD in SB 46, where he realized AS HE SCORED that he probably shouldn't. 100% on the coaches, IMO.
